This was the first waterfall we visited in Langkawi and we were amazed by it! The water wasn't flowing very fast, but still enough to keep the pool at it's base nice and fresh, indeed the water was quite cool. The climb is short and easy, the pool is clear and just deep enough for swimming. The area is pretty clean - looks like most tourists have done the right thing. We had the place to ourselves for a little while before a couple other tourists arrived. And then a very brazen monkey ripped open our drawstring bag and started pulling out clothes, he wasn't scared of being yelled at or chased and wouldn't leave until rocks were thrown in his general direction, it is a shame they have been conditioned to do this by people who feed them. But we loved this beautiful waterfall, not the biggest (although apparently the tallest), and lovely all the same

I can't stress enough how fantastic this was, and, it's totally free. Unless you need the toilet, then it's 50sen.

There's plenty of free parking across the road and there doesn't seem to be any opening hours or gate so go anytime.

The walk up isn't that hard or long, although it's a little slippery. The monkeys are a little intimidating so I'd pick up a stick at the entry and don't smile at the monkeys or carry obvious looking food bags - both those things get them aggressive!

An absolute must is a swim at the top! In the very least you need to put your feet in. It's lovely and clean up the top so please keep nature in mind and remove any rubbish with you. Be prepared to get a little wet at the top from the water and wind but it's beautiful.

My husband and I couldn't resist but go for a quick dip and it was a surreal experience. We sat with our feet in the water for an hour after that just looking around.

We don't have much to compare to but regardless this was a beautiful experience. Even the walk to the top was so pretty.

This is the reason we hire cars while on holidays. We were so stoked to stumble across this and it was the highlight of our trip.

On the way to Datai Bay, we spotted the waterfall, Langkawi's tallest, all 200m of it. Formed in the Late Cambrian age, 450 million years ago, its source is from atop the Machinchang Mountain. We walked along a 500m path of steps fashioned next to the stream until we reached the base of the waterfall. The spray from Temurun was awesome and we got thoroughly damp in the 3 minutes we spent documenting our visit with thre usual selfies. There are pools at three levels along the waterfall's flow, great fun for kids. So glad we chanced upon this natural gem of a place; we'll remember to bring our swim gear the next time!
