found this place while walking one day. Nice informative visit. Lots of things to see inside as they take you through the history of rice industry. You can walk around the padi fields too

I fouind this attraction to be dispointing mainly because there was no sense of direction so we just wandered.
What really made a difference was when one of the workers stopped to talk with us and explain the cycle of rice growing, others had no interest in visitors.
This could be so much better.

This was a very good use of time as it was close to the main tourist strip of beach and restaurants. We enjoyed seeing the water buffaloes up close and to see the farming tools used to harvest rice.

Although not fully re-opened until later in the year, this rice-themed park/museum is a very rare gem. It lets the visitor see how rice is cultivated today and was cultivated before the machine age. There is a lovely, beautifully maintained museum that is open now and there is extensive renovation work going on around the entire park that is scheduled to end in October. Even in this not-quite-fully-open stage it was still one of our favourite visits on a magical trip to Langkawi. Ask one of the staff to show you around the padi fields that surround the museum and you will be overwhelmed with their knowledge and passion for not just rice but a huge array of tropical plants and herbs that are growing along every walkway. You will learn which herb is best with which food, and what the most important medicinal plants are. Add in some monitor lizards and lots of birds, and the museum cat, and there really is something for everyone.

Apparently a very nice thing to do in Langkawi but it is closed until end of October 2013. From outside the place looks pretty nice.
