After too much searching we have decided to book our Honeymoon in Rebak Island Resort. When we arrived it was Ramadan and we had to wait around 1:30 hrs till the next ferry boat arrived.
The resort is nice and clean. All our requests were accomodated. However, I had to remind them 3 times that we are honeymooners until they gave us a treat.

The SPA experience was fabioulos but over-priced.

The restaurants are good. We enjoyed all the meals we had. I was very happy to find out that they serve Shisha by the Bar.

On one of the days when we were planning to go to Langkawi downtown but unfortunately the sea was not stable so they stopped all the trips to Langkawi.

Room Tip: The Sea-View King rooms are really nice but make sure you take the rooms on the second level and the...

It started with the reception at the airport, the pampering was to the hilt at Taj Rebak Island Resort. The hotel has to be reached by a 15 min scenic boat ride from the Lankasuka jetty. Friendly hotel staff headed by the General Manager Mr Sandip Mukherji ensured that time in the resort was spent effectively and guests have a memorable holiday. The suite had breathtaking views of the waterfront and the private beaches. The kayak rides to the nearby islands was an experience to cherish......Sea food BBQ.....island treks.......visit to the Mangroves by Dev Travels and their knowledgeable guide Mr Selva....Paradise on earth.......waiting to visit again and hopefully soon!

We would absolutely join with those reviewers who totally loved Rebak Island. If you want a flashy night life and cheap food, then don't go. If you want to feel relaxed, pampered and at peace for a few days, this is certainly the place for you. The friendly staff seem to actually enjoy ensuring that you have the best time. We enjoyed chatting and finding out about where they came from etc, but I'm sure they would be the ultimate in discreet if you wanted privacy. We just stayed on the island and enjoyed the swimming pool, kayaking and biking, and generally relaxing. The breakfasts were a huge treat, and we enjoyed the many curries in the evening. The days just passed gently by. Totally hassle-free. What a fabulous luxury in our busy lives. If you have the money it would be easy to stay on Rebak and venture out to see the sights of Langkawi from there. We stayed at a much cheaper place on the main island first to do our sightseeing and this worked very well for us. We really enjoyed the nature walk which was part of the programme of activities provided at the resort. I would love to think that we will return to Rebak Island one day, but meanwhile I hope to carry the Rebak feeling with me for a long time.

Room Tip: Our 'garden room' was very spacious and had a huge dressing room, which was such an asset...

The property is beautiful and the service is a class by itself, what with personalized attention from the staff. If there is a downside, its only that the staff can tell you about what is happening on the main island - for instance, we went all the way to the cable car to find it closed for a day for maintenance. The hotel could put such information on a notice board, perhaps.

I love this place! Not sure if the people who wrote the negative reviews are confusing this resort with another one because from the moment I was picked up at the airport I felt as though I was in good hands. The driver had a wonderful presence and was calm and competent.
I was treated like royalty on my stay and was surprised to come back from dinner to find my bed turned down and lamps on. The staff have a great attention to detail and are extremely friendly to the point where I now see the resort as a second home and consider the staff family.
I was extremely sad to leave the island just this Wednesday and am already thinking about my return.
I read a review where someone had mentioned bed bugs but this was more likely to be Mosquitos. Do keep your doors and windows closed and take repellant with you. We didn't have any but one of the staff contacted our driver Ram who picked some up for us and had it sent over!
If you want to feel special this is the place to go!

The best service I have ever experienced, every staff member was friendly and helpful. Good food, facilities and beach. Transfers to main land were easy and staff organised activities, taxis etc on main Langkawi island. Being on a resort island meant peace and quiet every day. Kids had lots of fun - but 'kids club' was just a room with no supervision (only complaint we'd have). We got to plant a tree with our family name on it (no extra cost) so will definitely return one day and see our tree growing up! The most peaceful, relaxing place you could go.

Room Tip: Suits on the beach would have the nicest view, but our suit was inside the resort and was still love...

On the face of it, this looks like a fab resort - set on its own private island off Langkawi, with lush vegetation and Asian-inspired low rise huts. The experience begins at the jetty where you take the boat ride to the resort. These are timed regularly throughout the day but stop in the evening, otherwise necessitating a very expensive private transfer back. So it is impossible to go to Langkawi for dinner and come back without paying through the nose. Their aim is to keep you hostage on the island for your entire holiday due to this ill thought out arrangement. The boat transfer is also far from luxury.

As soon as you step inside the resort, the cracks begin to show. The room was pleasant enough although we were assigned to a ground floor room that looked directly onto the gardens - not very private. Due to it being a tropical climate, the room felt a bit damp and humid, with a bit of a musty smell. I wouldn't say it was a luxurious room by any means, but it was fine.

The beach is small and not great quality - we used it maybe once, and spent the rest of our time by the pool. The beaches on Langkawi are far superior in quality.

Due to the idiotic boat restrictions, we were confined to eat on the island for most nights. This would have been fine if there was more choice. There seems to be another restaurant by the marina on the island but this was shut leaving only one option. They serve an a la carte menu of international food but overall the quality was lacking and there was no variety, no theme nights and it got incredibly boring night in night out staring at the same old overpriced menu. This was also another bugbear - prices were way higher than on Langkawi - because you are trapped there you are forced to pay but the inflation was ridiculous! I wouldn't have minded if there were 3 - 4 different restaurants we could have tried but there weren't. The most annoying part was the "entertainment" which was simply awful - a couple who moved round each table singing with guitar the same cover songs of Enrique Iglesias night after night.

Overall we had a pleasant trip to Langkawi but I would not stay here again, rather pay more for better quality accommodation on Langkawi itself. The facilities were good - tennis, ping pong etc but there just isn't enough on the island to keep people entertained there, and the quality is 3 - 4* at best. This has put me off staying in any Taj resorts in future.
