A decent hotel, but I wouldn't rate it a 5 star hotel!
We had two electricity problems, the shower had uneven tiles, "Feast" restaurant was so-and-so (where you eat breakfast) beach wasn't especially good!

The hotel has a cabin feel, with spacious rooms and a nice tub, the "Captain's Grill" was nice with good food, the staff we're friendly and helpful!
The hotel is quite far away, but for a 120 ringgit you can get a cabbie to spin around the isle with you for 4 hours, getting a scooter is a good idea to reach places in general.
We enjoyed our stay but if I were to come again I'd pick another hotel!

The hotel is clean and modern but rather soulless. It also has an air of neglect. If the owners put some time and effort and money in to making it more inviting it would be a great hotel. The pool area could be amazing if the pool was actually clean and more shade provided for the loungers. Pool surround looks like an airport landing strip. The beach could be beautiful if kept clean - I realise this probably doesn't belong to the hotel, but it could be a huge draw card for guests. Also removing the eyesore of a disused shed type building next door would provide an amazing view of the mountains. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food in restaurant ranged from abysmal breakfasts to average a la carte menu. The distance from any shopping or other attractions makes it an expensive exercise in terms of taxi fares - perhaps the hotel should introduce a shuttle service to Cenang.

Frankly, I cannot believe this hotel is in the Starwood chain. It is really far below what you would expect especially in terms of service.

The room we stayed in was rather old and it didn't appear well maintained. What freaked us out were the stains on the bed :(. Some of the towels were also stained for some reason.

We were however impressed with the massive size of the pool - it had such potential (from a distance) until you get nearer to it. Shockingly green and moldy looking...you cannot see the bottom of the pool (4 ft, if I remember correctly).

We also saw several guests arguing loudly with a taxi driver right in front of the hotel lobby while the Four Points staff stood and stared. Am not too sure what caused the argument but the point is, they were making a scene right in front of the hotel. To be fair, we were exiting the hotel and thus, am not too sure how long the ruckus lasted or if the hotel staff intervened later.

I sincerely hope the hotel seeks to improve the service levels and general cleanliness.

Plus points: Size of the room (spacious), Disposable bedroom slippers & bathrobe provided.

It's a review for Four Points, so with no expectation for luxury stay, hence the title. It's not the Sheraton, let's face it. Staff were friendly (most of the time). Food was good if you choose the local dishes. Pool and beach: didn't use them as no one was using it or everyone went elsewhere. But it's only 5 mins to the airport, so is Cenang Beach. convenient enough. So recommend for people who are in a hurry or want to access the night market, etc. Price could be on the high side for what it's got but I had a good stay.

Room Tip: Ocean view is better but you are not gonna get too much value out of it for 200RM more per night. Yo...

We stayed at the hotel despite the poor reviews because it is so cheap and we got a great deal, so do not feel that I can complain as the price is reflective of the standard

We stayed 4 nights at another hotel on the beach, then we chose Four Points as we hired a car for 3 days and did not intend to stay at the hotel apart from sleep. And for this it was fine

Positives include you are one of the very few people at the resort, quiet, rooms are massive, one of the biggest swimming pools I have seen at a hotel, good beach which was one of the cleanest we encountered in Langkawi, and okay kids club. I thought service was fine

Never ate at the hotel, but I never like eating at any hotel and with the car we did not need too. It is surprising that as the hotel is less than 3 years old it looked so unloved

I would only stay at the hotel if you had a car (so cheap to hire one from the airport) and were not looking for a resort type of hotel

We booked for two nights but we cancelled one of them because the pool was soooo dirty (green color) no service and no activities. It should close better than opening in this performance. Advice you not to try it

I am disappointed that this hotel is actually part of Starwood hotels. The quality and services are not what you would expect of the hotel. The room is clean but not of the standard of a four star hotel. The hotel is near the airport but a drive away from the busy street of Pantai Cenang. Hence you need to rent a car if you plan to stay here. If you love quiet place then this is the hotel for you.
Breakfast is pretty much the same everyday.
