Good Things:
-Beautiful beautiful beautiful location.
-It has its own small dock space. Very beautiful early morning views and sunsets. Wooden flooring at the docking gives a very interesting feel to all that experience.
-Breakfasts were very good.
-Rooms were clean.
Area of improvement:
-Its huge and we got the room at the farthest end. So we had to walk a lot to reach our room, when we were already tired.
- Rooms were not spacious.
- Washrooms were OK. No hot water at first, leakages at bath tub, but they responded well to our complaints and it got fixed
- We got garden view room, but beach view are the best.
- Inhouse entertainment (shopping places, eating, etc) was much missed out.

Room Tip: Get the beach view side rooms, near entrance.

We reached Langkawi as the third leg of our honeymoon, arriving from Penang by ferry. From the ferry station to the hotel, it took about 25/30 minutes. We were full of trepidation as to how the hotel would be, since we read mixed reviews on Trip Advisor, but seriously, we fell in love with the hotel at first sight. The rooms were lovely, with great view! Am not sure why some people say the washroom is one side, not inside the bathroom. It wasn't so in our case. The bathroom had all the modern amenities along with a bathtub. Housekeeping was good too!

Now about the location... the hotel is 10 minutes away from the main Pentai Cenang beach and costs about 15 RM, There is a taxi station right outside the hotel, so that is not a problem. The road is dotted with restaurants- try them out.

The hotel is very huge. From the main lobby to our room, it was a good 5-8 minutes walk. but we used to go through the board walk- so always enjoyed the view, In the night, its good to see at the lazy chairs outside, see the luxury yachts that are docked by, and enjoy the breeze. The restaurant has outside seating options too- on the boardwalk. Try that! Breakfast options are aplenty.

The hotel doesn't have its own beach- but there is a pvt beach which is 4 minutes by the jetty (hotel provides free to & fro) I found that better than Pentai Cenang because obviously this one is less crowded & more cozy! All-in-all, a great resort!

We booked this hotel as part of our honeymoon trip. this is beautiful place and stay was absolute cozy and romantic.
Hotel staff helped us to arrange a vehicle so that we could see the island our own.
Stay at hotel was a pleasure and complementary breakfast was amazing with variety and ambience.
They even have a collection of in house wines which they are more than happy to share.

The package that i booked is a honeymoon package which turn out to be a great deal. We check in as early as 11 am. The room was decorated with flowers and our check in process was done as quick as they can. The staffs are friendly and helpful. Arranged my activity for 3 days and 2 nights. The sunset view was great and good experience for me. They served us with unlimited drink and food. The candle light dinner wad great, just 5 star hotel. The location is very near to pantai cenang about less than 10 minutes drive. 1 thing that I notice is the room is too far from the lobby so it might about 10 minutes to reach our hotel room. I definitely want to come again go Awana. Great stay.

I planned to stay in Langkawi for three days and checked in this hotel. It was terrible, rooms pathetic (Wash Basin in the bed room) with poor staff service. There was no assistance from staff for anything. Breakfast was poor. Only saving grace is the view from room which is available in all other hotels too. NO BEACH in the hotel.

Hotel is just placed nicely in the scenic beauty of Langkawi. It connects the star cruise jetty & thus offers addtional playroom . The best aspect of the hotel is small themes every now & then, like dinner under the stars ..just next to jettey under the start light its an amazing feeling . It is the main harbour for short 1 day tours & thus offers good connectivity. Just rent a car & move around the city and come to relax in awana

The hotel is relatively nice. The view to the docks is beautiful. However, the price i paid, for the rooms i got... NOT WORTH IT! The room was old, but clean though. My problem with the room was, the bathroom and toilet is separate, ON TWO SEPARATE SIDES, as you enter the room, which is quite ridiculous. Its the first time i've seen such arrangements. AND the sink is OUT of the bathroom area. Its BESIDE the Bed! The bathrooms are super narrow and small. But overall, the room was clean, and the bed was ok for a good sleep. (we stayed in the deluxe room)

The staff... The staff at the reception were fine and helpful. The staff at breakfast was quite rude. Its LANKAWI, so obviously, i'm gonna have a drink or two with my breakfast (after all, i'm a PAYING customer)... the staff said in a rude tone "no drinking alcohol here. I will charge you corkage now!"... I responded politely saying that i wasn't an outsider, i'm a paying customer... BUT he rudely asked me to get out into the hot sun to finish my drink before sitting back down to have my breakfast THOUGH i told him that i would not drink, but will do only after my breakfast.. (He said, once the bottle is opened, its not allowed to be there)... Educated staff is very important in the customer service line, think about it, management!!

The beach - YES, the staff said that there's a beach... a PRIVATE beach at a PRiVATE island, in which the hotels boat will take the customers at a certain time everyday! That got us excited... I wish i have the photos to show everyone, unfortunately my camera fell into the sea :( ..... Anyhow, the "private beach" is RUBBISH!!!! There's bare even a beach... Its rocks, rocks, and more rocks... with beach chairs far far away from the water! There's a bar, without anyone manning it... nothing was sold there. The water was dirty!

Anyway, if you're looking for just a comfortable quick stay until you get off to your REAL holiday, then stay here... Otherwise, look elsewhere... langkawi has better places for a cheaper price.
