This is a family trip of 9pax inc one elderly..we choose Frangipani due to good review, & close proximity to beaches..arrived at 2pm, request for connecting room was given, very much thanks to miss Diana for the effort to make our stay comfortable..excellent porter service by hafidz, pushing my mother's wheelchair while explaining variety of herbs n flower..rooms were good, reasonable size, facility ok..but langkawi was HOT HOT ! stay indoor will 6pm, then venture out to beaches, n good one too.!! plenty of ripe mangoes trees, we took some n ate instantly..yum yum..parking good, breakfast was great and lavish..services was fast..xcept for non-existance of wifi inside rooms, i got nothing bad to say.! Great Stay..Mngt, pls say thanks to Diana & the others that makes our stay memorable...Cheers..Azam, KL

Hotel is great in general. Located in Cenang beach, the hotel is accessible to many reataurants/ spas etc. The hotel swimming pool has direct excess to the beach.

However we were super unhappy with the service.

My family (6 person) was there for a 3 days holiday. When we went to the restaurant, we were totally ignored even though there's at least 4 restaurant staff hanging out and chatting by the bar. When I approached them and told them there's 6 of us, he pointed us to a table of 4 and did not even bother putting the chairs together for us. In fact he just watched us carry the chairs from a distance.

We were served by 1 single staff (who wore a blue t shirt) throughout the dinner. He got our order, set the table, clear our table, retake extra orders, get the bill and clean the table. He seems to be doing this for all the other tables too and this caused a delay. Service was extremely slow. What puzzled us was this: there's still at least 4-5 staff (wearing white shirt) sitting and joking around at the bar and no one seem interested to help this single working guy.

We ate at least 4 meals at the restaurant throughout our stay, each time the service for worst. Good was not great.

I am still at this place at time of review. The hotel and rooms are well-maintained but it does not give the experience of a 4 star hotel. The bellboy and receptionist are polite and friendly. There is a nice pool and its proximity to the beach is a big plus. We have been to many hotels in Langkawi and this is one of the better ones (compared to Pantai Cenang) but it does not give you a plush experience of being in a 4 star with a comfortable bed/pillows. The room was fairly large but has very basic amenities.

Another huge minus - the rooms do NOT have Internet. I am resorting to writing this at the cafeteria which has a fair share of flies (due to its open air set up).

We came here with friends and were quite happy with the accommodation and position of our sea view villas, not quite on the front row but still a sea view. The only complaint we have was that the mattresses were really firm! Wifi also not very stable and only available in the restaurant/bar area.

An Eco Resort that advertises itself as the 'Greenest' in Malaysia. The location on Pantai Tengah is close to the airport...only about 15 minutes by taxi. It is off Pantai Cenang with its rows of restaurants and shops.

The hotel itself is set in private grounds with a range of rooms set is two storey blocks and individual chalets. The chalets are quaint and some with trees growing through the patio roof. Many are coverd in morning glory and blends in well with the profusion of frangipani, mango, hibiscus and other trees and bushes. Lots of patches of lemongrass and other herbs growing among them as well.

Rooms are relatively well appointed with twin or king beds. Amenities are adequate with a fridge and tea/coffee making facilites. Some are looking a little tired and cleanliness can be improved especially the bathroom. The outdoor shower is a lovely addition though the warning to keep the outdoor shower door locked intimidating. The chalets come with either a normal door or some with patio style doors. We had one of the latter and the lock was difficult and seemed very flimsy. There was no security chain or bar on those and we distinctly felt insecure with it. The chalets are in staggered rows with some having sea views, beach front and the third row having garden views. To be honest, all seem close enough to the beach...a few metres walk.

The beach front is lovely with stone pergola's that have sunbeds in them. There is a smallish freshwater pool, children's pool and jacuzzi near the restaurant and bar which can get quite busy. Further along is a 15m salt water pool. Much newer and quieter. The beach is gentle and realatively safe. Tide comes in a bit. Water quality as with all those along the Straits of Malacca not great if you are used to crystal clear waters. The beach is although not private feels that way during the week. One gripe is that with the hotel's Green credentials, they could not get someone to clear up the plastic bottles and other non-organic jetsam and floatsam washed up on each tide. Not a massive job and would make it so much more pleasant and keep up with the hotel's recycling programme. The incessant buzzing of the jetskies and the boats with paracenders was irritating at best and annoying at worst. Not a great place to enjoy the sound of the surf!!

Food in the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. Trying to do to much and failing in all counts. Not nice the dishes we tried. Breakfast was adequate. Selection poor. Would have liked more than the fried noodles or fried rice as a VERY token gesture to local breakfast. Roti's curries, nasi lemak or some other offering of the wide variety of amazing and delicious local breakfasts would be better than the Chicken franks, beef bacon (disgusting) and baked beans available every day. Omelettes and fried eggs a nice touch as is the frangipani tea. In general, it is filling but nothing to write home about. If you want good food, there are lots of restaurants just outside and along the road to Pantai Cenang.

All in all a nice resort and the fact that no building is taller than a palm tree is great. Be prepared for the noise from the watersports activities and the number of mosquitoes and flies buzzing around especially around the reception area. Wifi is also only available at the restaurant and reception where mosquito feeding seems to be at its worst!!

Staff are friendly and pleasant...you get saluted by the security guard. Resoursefulness may not be their strong point though!

Room Tip: Go for the Garden View villas. Cheaper and the same as the beach front ones and just a few feet fur...

Loved this hotel, Amazing breakfast buffet, Value for money spa. Peaceful location. Eco-friendly. Helpful friendly staff, Nice food!
This hotel would suite couples, family, friends, solo's anyone really. Room was large, very clean and tidy all around the resort. Very close to local town, walking distance about 10 mins, but there are restaurants right outside the resort too. Good location to get too the main attractions too.

Room Tip: Sea view and garden view rooms means your in centre of hotel.
