“Could be interesting for culture lover”
Reviewed July 31, 2012

Entrance fee per person: RM 5 (Adult)

This is a historic place where it consist the indoor museum that tells the story behind the tomb and the outdoor has a few traditional Malay houses and the tomb. One of the traditional Malay house is act like the history timeline where you can walk through and get an brief idea of the story. However, if you are looking for a detailed version, the museum has it.

“an interesting historic place”
Reviewed June 28, 2012

lots of interesting stuff... like most is the Mahsuri's well. under the hot humid sun... the splash of well's water on ur face & head is so very refreshing.

there's also showcase on Kedah's village, the type of house the local's used to lived in, farming tools & also a few birds on display kept in cages... there's an eagle here too.

“Not well-maintain. Nothing much to see.”
Reviewed March 30, 2012

Locals pay RM5 to enter Mahsuri's Mausoleum. Two places to visit, indoor has a museum telling legend of Mahsuri while outdoor has Mahsuri's tomb and some old houses of Mahsuri's family. Nothing much to see. The site is not well-maintain too. The wood houses are very old and there are some holes on the floor, watch out your steps while walking. For the museum, it would be nice if there is a guide to explain the legend, instead of reading the long story on the board.

Generally, one can visit this place if there is too much time to spend in Langkawi but most likely you'll not come back visit this place again in your future visit to Langkawi.

“Must go!”
Reviewed February 13, 2012

Well, if you're in Langkawi, you must visit Mahsuri's Tomb!
The legend/history is well documented and very touching/moving... Only RM 10 per entry or RM 5 for MyKad holders.... They even have books about the famous Mahsuri sold for RM 10... it's nice... must visit!

“Probably more appreciated by locals”
Reviewed November 25, 2011

This was a nice enough place to visit, however is rather informal. Once you've paid entry, you can walk to the tomb (which is more a like a gravesite) or wander around the complex of wooden chalets. I'm not entirely sure what those were for though.
There is a film showing which helps you understand the story, but the entire place emphasises the fact that there are so many versions of the story, it's quite hard to know what actually happened and hence, why it's so important to the island.
