We did the more expensive platform trip and it was well worth it. When we arrived to organised chaos, the tide was out and snorkeling was only an option from the platform. Only after 1pm or so could the beach goers actually snorkel out far enough to see anything.
English information was scarce and food was disappointing, and the boat home left 10 minutes early, not sure what would happen if you were still enjoying the underwater viewing chamber since there were no English announcements!
Would recommend the platform over the beach option

First time visiting Pulau Payar and I'm mesmerized with it's beauty. You can catch small sharks and other colorful fish. It's truly amazing!

There are many choices of boats, meals, and activities which are available leaving from the Main Jetty in Kuah. It is worthwhile giving some thought prior to going regarding what you really want to see/do/eat etc. The choices will suit people of all ages. The "Park" is a boat trip away... and the reefs are "home" to baby sharks, and many varieties of fish and "plant/reef life". One can take a glass-bottom boat, or go snorkelling, or, if "certified", scuba is possible. The meals also cover a wide variety of options. All in all, it is an enjoyable and memorable activity-- which can cater to your interests- whatever they may be!

I hope that this Review has been helpful.

We had an interesting day when boating to Pulau Payar Marine Park. Did some lovely snorkeling and diving. Honestly speaking this activity is over prices for what you get. If you are a family of 3,4,5 people, it costs you a leg. Anyhow, we still had a good time with the fishes.

YUP YUP....boats well maintained. Would go on a jetty defenitely again. Crew friendly. Food on board (catered by a hotel) was average.
