The site was beautiful. You could see fishes from the deck itself. They have facilities to dive. Please note these are two platforms there. One company gives facilities such as lunch, Snorkelling gears, Optional Diving facility, Trip from Langkawi in AC jetty, no fresh water etc. there is another company which is costlier, they have a facility of Glass Bottom Boat, underwater see through tunnel , fresh water facility apart from what the other companies provide. It is very good for first timers for snorkelling / Diving etc. I recommend this place to be visited.

Leaving Kuah jetty at 9am on a big ferry, they transfer you to the marine park on a small boat near the beach. 15 minutes of short briefing and there you go do anything you like until lunch time around 12pm. If this is your first time, they will teach you how to snorkel. Life jacket and snorkel mask provided.

It's just a small island and all facilities are in the same area. Only a beach, a toilet, a place for eating and briefing and a small first aid station. The toilet use sea water because it's the marine park and no fresh water is allowed except for drinking and first aid purpose.

The attraction here is SHARK! Walk a few meter from the beach the baby shark will swim together with you. If you can swim, you can snorkel further out to the sea. They put a barrier to tell you how far you can go.

After your lunch, you can continue swimming, snorkeling until around 2pm they will call you up and gather at a point. This is the great time where the staff will go out to the sea with fishes(blood) to attract the big shark. This shark feeding session is only for photography purposes, no tourist allowed to go into water at this time. The shark is as big as 2 meter long or some even bigger and they come very close to you for the food.

Water here is shallow so do not jump or dive when swimming or you will get yourself hurt.

I had great snorkelling at Pulau Payer marine Park. I paid rm 100=$33. Bus pick at 7am to another bus then ferry to marine park. We had wooden table chair with overhead shade. Lunch included and a can drink. The area is shallow,Clear visibility. Saw lot's of fish, small sharks ,coral. No lockers. No showers. There restrooms and tub of water with to wash off. The company I went with is Coral island were 2nd to arrive East Marine was 1st. Most were snorkelling some went diving. I saw very little garbage. Small beach area. There is 4 feet barracuda under the ferry to beach dock area where most of the small sharks are swimming.

Palau Payar in Langkawi was amazing... We snorkelled with baby sharks and lots of eye catching colourful fish. Although the ride to the beautiful island was the best. We had to get on shabby boat and after that got on a unstable speed boat (not dangerous) , that brought us to the island. We enjoyed the island so much. They gave us packed lunches that were tasty and we were allowed to get back in the water. The sharks weren't dangerous.. Fabulous time..
