After more than a week in Malaysia, and being a pretty stereotypical Brit, I dragged my partner to Coco's after it was mentioned to me by a fellow resident at our hotel.

Our hotel was 3.5 miles from Coco's, and when our taxi driver finally gave up trying to find it after 30 minutes of driving (visiting the Cucu Beach restuarant on the way), Google Maps reckoned we were 8.5 miles from our destination :D

So, for anyone else trying to find Coco's tell your taxi driver to head for the car park underneath the "Laguna Appartments" - it's easy then!

It was defintely worth the expedition though. Steak and Kidney Pie and chips was just what the doctor may have ordered (probably) and after paying 14 Ringetts for a beer at the hotel, Coco's 5 Ringetts seemed to make it taste even better. We had a short chat with a lady (might have been the owner, Coco maybe?) about getting a sign put up on the road and she said they were thinking of doing that, and everyone was lovely and the atmosphere was very pleasant.

Two main courses, a shared cheesecake for desert and a couple of drinks each left us with change from £15 too.

As mentioned in previous reviews, Coco's has relocated.
In every respect the standards, which were excellent at the last site, have been retained and without exception all the friends we have taken to dinner at Coco's reiterate our praise.
Full marks and deservedly so. A MUST to visit.

Coco's has just moved to the basement of The Laguna apartment building. It is definitely a much nicer and more accessible location, but prices remain the same for the still generously portioned good food. Steak and steak and kidney pies are a welcome addition to the menu. The only setback is that customers cannot use the condo car park and will have to park on the roadside.

Warmth, Delicious and Excellent! If only three words are allowed to describe this lovely restaurant! But of course, the lists to describe the food, the host and the place are a bucket long! Warning, you will get addicted to their food!!

We discovered this lovely place by accident, which we are attracted by the helpfulness of Coco in directing us for a beautiful sunset spot in the island, and it turned out, we get addicted to these beautiful and lovely restaurant!

As a start, it's not the easiest way to look for this restaurant, but, the rule is to just follow the direction given from either Coco or Steve, and not to follow one's instinct in the direction, and you shall be landed in the right place, with surprise, at least that's what we fel!t :)

The restaurant gives us a rustic kind of feel and the warmth of the "home-cook" style meal, plated and presented in style. They have small menu but all the ingredients are freshly prepared and cook on the day by the only head chef, Steve and thats what speaks for their menu sizes. However, I strongly recommend to ask for the day's special, which doesn't printed in the menu.

We had fish and chips and chicken cordon bleu on the first day. The fish is cook to perfection. The fish is so fresh and the batter is light & crisp at the outside, n the fish is just melt in the mouth. The chicken cordon bleu is very well seasoned, non greasy and the cheese just ooze out once it's cut open! We had the homemade tiramisu for dessert. And hell yes, we made up our mind to have our dinner on the next day at Coco's bistro once we have our last bite. We loves the ambience, the food and the host, Coco is so attentive and welcoming. She treat you just like a guest, welcoming you to their 'home' with her genuine service.

The next evening, we were having the infamous Irish stew and the day's special, Grilled Chicken with stuffing. As I am the person who is very particular when comes to food, I truly think their Irish Stew is really one of the best I've ever had! And not kidding which they 'advertised' in their menu that it had sold a million... One bowl is never enough, really! We ends our evening with the chocolate brownies with ice cream. The brownies is moist and aromatic, and that's really is a perfect sweet ending for the meal.

Both Steve and Coco are the most congenial of hosts! Coco is very friendly and makes the guests felt so welcoming and she just never wear out of smiles. We felt so privileged able to have some conversations with both Steve and Coco after our dinner, til wee hours. Although it's a long but really great session. We felt comfortable and enjoying ourself with both the hosts and we can tell both Steve and Coco are really genuine, good people who loves people and food!

We spent a week in Langkawi, trying different food from different cafes and restaurants and its ashamed we were only to dine here for the last 2 evenings. It's abit 'too late' for us to discover this hidden gem. They shall be moving away to a new place by now and we sincerely wish their success and very best in their new location and to be frank, we definitely will go back to Coco's Bistro whenever we returning to Langkawi!
