This place is gorgeous. There are monkeys all over the place and the scenery is breathtaking. There are a number of different restaurants and the pool is just a short walk from the beach.
Amazing food, great weather (mostly - beware rain in April!). The resort is quite isolated and if you wanted any kind of night life you would have to travel by cab but there are plenty about to hop into.
Really lovely would highly recommend!

The Berjaya was a lovely resort, really in touch with preserving their rain forest surroundings too. Very multi cultural mix of guests from Arabs, Indians & Europeans. We found some of the people from India rude and not very polite for example to the Berjaya staff.

We made a real effort to learn some Malay, like our room no. so we could ask for it when we took the shuttle service - this made the staff laugh but they liked it.

Bit of confusion mid-way through with Reception staff when we changed bungalows from lovely Junior on the water to a cheaper one (still with a sea view) - the staff had to keep ringing head office to clarify everything. Also tried to invoice us for included items like our spa treatments.

Our 2nd week included all you can eat buffets each night, food excellent especially the starters, but shame the restuarant is hot and humid with almost no air flow. We tried the Chinese restuarant one night, but didn't sit in as the aircon was inside and it was so brightly lit! The Thai restuarant on the pier was great and we went there for our first night welcoming dinner as this was included in our package. Japanese rest. is actually up the road and off site so we didn't go there.

We enjoyed the walking tour of the grounds with the wildlife expert and the tour of the mangroves. Several times we walked up the beach to the next resort along to visit their sea front restuarant and bar, good food and lovely outlook.

Plenty of trips you can do, like boat trips, snorkel, scuba and cable car + suspended walkway up the mountain is really close, or just laze around the pool or on the beach, there were always enough sun loungers.

Never used our balconies as it was too hot and humid in the day and mozzies/bugs in the evening. One night there was a brilliant thunderstorrm when we were in our Junior chalet on the water, fantastic, like being on a boat!

Cleaning v good and as we were on our honeymoon they dropped off a cake a nice bottle of wine!

We stayed at the Berjaya for 5 days - not long enough! Our chalet was lovely we had a premier partial sea view. The amount of wild life we saw just walking around the resort was amazing. Recommend Dev's nature walks, really interesting and informative. The beach was very clean and not too busy. Pool a lilttle small but big enough for the amount of people using it. Best restaurant was the Thai, a great setting, although the food in the other restaurants was good. The staff go out of their way to ensure you have a good stay. Hopefully will go back again soon.

We stayed at Berjaya Langkawi for a week and can confirm that this resort is patchy. I had concerns after reading reviews on Trip Advisor and so upgraded to Deluxe room. There was nothing Deluxe about the room we were given! It smelt musty, the fittings were shabby (10-15 years old) and it was small with 'bed' for our son being the built - in couch in the window. The rooms was smelly and awful and I immediately asked the porter to open the door to verandah to try to get some fresh air in. The door wouldn't open and although he rang through to report it no one ever came to fix it during the 18hrs we stayed in that room.

The reception staff are clearly quite used to people coming back horrified by the room they have been alloted and they are almost robotic in giving you the upgrade options and prices - they have clearly done this many times before!

The annoying thing is that the place is depicted as something it is not and once there you have little option but to pay more money and find a room that is decent. There are nice rooms and that is why some people have a lovely stay and others can't wait to leave. Lots of issues in the rooms such as fridge that won't make ice and room service charges for ice, airconditioner switching off every hour all night so had to sleep with remote control and keep turning it on again, pool towels with holes in them as they are so worn...stuff you don't want to think about when you are on holiday. Despite booking months earlier we could not get a King bed room and just had to cope with singles. Attitude was bad luck we just don't have one for you as we have many guests from the Middle East...yeah...that explains it...

Do not book Superior rooms (Superior indicates way up high on hill not a description of room amenities) or Deluxe (no idea what the Deluxe was about) these rooms are small, dark and old. If you want the sort of room that you would expect from the 'glossy' website you need to choose a room in the higher price brackets.

The staff clearly battle this problem constantly and perhaps are a little tired of it. so cleverly waited until the day before our departure to take the time to discuss the shortcomings of our stay. Nothing was offered to remedy our problems. I noted with some annoyance a note from Enzo against someones TA comment saying he would prefer to deal with things when guests are there and sort things out. This is not consistent with my experience. THERE WAS NO ATTEMPT TO ADDRESS OUR CONCERNS JUST PAY UP AND WE WILL MOVE YOU!

Spent 5 days here. Truly an amazing place. Got Chalets in woods as well as beach facing ones. Hills on one side and beach on the other.

Good water sports facilities, gym, spa. And the best part is many restaurants with delicious cuisines.

Amazing amazing place.
