“Great hotel for relaxing holiday - Heavenly spa just that! Heavenly!”
Reviewed September 26, 2012

We stayed for 4 nights in a normal room - we had a great view of the ocean, and spent sometime on our little balcony (as did a monkey that visited from time to time!!) We had a free treatment at the spa in our package, and then booked enough treatments to earn another free treatment on our last morning (look at the tv screen in the foyer - there are special offers promoted there, and I only noticed it while waiting for a cab.
The food is excellent at Tide and Breeze (and breakfast). I loved sitting in Breeze, overlooking the islands, and washing down lunch with the Asian Mojito (ginger added - delicious).
There are 2 pools in the main resort, and a pool at the spa that was only used by us! There are plenty of chairs on the beach, and a water sports shack (unused by us!)
The hotel is not on the main beach - but an easy taxi ride (about $10Aus). The main beach is very, very busy - as are the main shopping/restaurant strip. We visited all the shopping centers and night markets after dinners out (so it's easy to get around) and headed off to Tanjong Rhu for sunset drinks and dinner. I have to say, while not with the main strip of hotels, I think we picked the perfect hotel - not crowded but easily accessible to all points of interest. The food is excellent, and was a higher standard than the other hotels that we ate at.
If you have kids in tow, they have a lot of kids activities, and kids club. There are also villas, that looked fantastic.
The spa treatments are fantastic, and the massages are great. They are also inexpensive (compared to those in the hotel in KL). Really relaxing and lovely.
Great holiday for those wanting to unwind.

Six days in a garden room, definitely in need of refurbishing but this did not detract from our stay. A lovely property with everything you could want for a relaxed holiday. In fact we didn't bother with any sight seeing really, went to town once. We ate at the hotel every night and found the food wonderful and the prices reasonable. It seemed too much hassle getting a taxi in to town and then deciding where to eat. We did go to the jetty quite a few times to change money, buy beers and snacks. A nice walk - 15mins probably. We just loved the property, especially the pools. We never got sick of the view from the infinity pool, just great to watch all the boats coming in. The rock pool was very relaxing and even saw a large lizard eating a frog. In fact we really enjoyed all the animal life, especially the monkeys, not something we see at home.
Last of all the staff, they really make it special. Very attentive and friendly, something you do not always get, even at expensive hotels. When we arrived there was no jug in our room and the plug in the bathroom was stuck. Both these were fixed immediately and best of all with a smile. (the plug had a coin stuck in it so not the hotels fault). Nearly forgot the breakfast. One of the best we have had (even though there was no bacon). Loved the fresh orange juice, pancakes, waffles and crepes. If we go back to Langkawi will definitely stay here again.

Was there recently for a long weekend - a decision not regretted!

Upon arrival, was greeted by some very nice staff! Breakfast was great, room was fantastic! Though a little dated as many have noted, renovations are in progress and certainly can't wait to see the renovated rooms! However, one of the room upgrade was rather unsatisfactory, Room 1318 was supposed to be partial sea-view, but even on the balcony, I could not see as the sea! Compared to Room 1315 which was under the same category and boasted fantastic views of the beach + Dayang Bunting Island, Room 1318 was a disappointment... However, the Heavenly Bed was certainly Heavenly!

Beach is actually very good! Just that there were many sandflies! But hey, it's the beach right? Although slightly muddy, water was clear and there were even corals and lots of marine life - indication of a very good ecosystem! Even managed to catch a cuttlefish, some crabs and collected some huge penshells for a nice dinner!

Breakfast was great- one of the best hotel breakfasts I had in a long long time, service by waiters in both Taste and Tide was simply astounding! Even helping my elderly father with his breakfast plate and service was always with a smile! Yes, it was packed when we were there, but we still felt valued!

Conveniently near Kuah Town, food was ample and duty free shopping at Teow's (TSH Duty Free i think) was really good! Plenty of good cheap chocs + alcohol for those who drink... Still cheaper than the tourist traps in Pantai Cenang! The Fish Farm restaurant nearby the resort was fantastic too! Worth a try, good food, but do wear your jeans to keep the mosquitoes at bay...

Overall, we were impressed at the quality of service provided at the resort and we'll definitely be back! Again, love the Superfoods served at the breakfast! Even the Mediterranean Buffet (Sat nights) was wonderful, and quality of food was top-notch! Do give it a try and you certainly won't regret it! Shall surely be back soon!!

We stayed for a week in September 2012.
Breakfast is really good with everything that you could want, we also had one meal in the hotel of the same standard. Food and drink is a little pricey compared to eating outside the hotel. (price is comparable with the other hotels of the same standard, However their guests can also be found eating outside due to cost) Lots of people go out at night which leaves the hotel a little empty.
Concierge staff were so good and assisted when ever needed, please ask them prior to going out as they can advise and save time and money.
The View and services were outstanding, well worth the money. Our room was a little tired, but they are being updated. We hired a car at the airport form Indira, then just drove around at our leisure. Driving is easy, traffic slow and roads good. We found a super restaurant to eat in Kuah, called Dominoes (in the main shopping street) We could eat for around £10 dinner, dessert and drinks. Do have the lemon pudding it is suburb. All kinds of food served.
We were sorry to leave, we found the location added to its peace. Also went on the ferry and had a day on the mainland.
Not cheap, but worth every penny for the staff, service and location.

Room Tip: Ask if they have a pool view available

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night (I wish it was longer!) as he had some business to attend to so I tagged along for the shopping and for some much needed R & R. The front office staff and concierge staff were very friendly and extremely helpful as we had an evening flight out and requested for a late check-out and the hotel was very accommodating. The room we were allocated as Starwood Preferred Guests was very spacious and had a very nice sit out balcony where we could sit and enjoy the view.

The overall ambience and surrounding areas are kept clean and the gardens and water features are well tended too. Morning breakfast is a pleasant experience, with a wide array of food to choose from, as guests can choose to sit in or out to enjoy the ocean breeze.

The hotel is also very close to the Langkawi Yacht Club where we went to see if we could hire some jet-skis. We came across Naam Cruise Sdn Bhd which hires out jet-skis and also has state-of-the-art parasailing. We decided to try the jet-skis which they operate out of Tanjung Rhu, as the weather was starting to change. We unfortunately could not try the parasailing as it starting raining shortly after.

Room Tip: If you're a Starwood Preferred Guest, you'll be allocated rooms overlooking the pool and oce...

We stayed 2 nights at the Westin Langkawi and it was truly an amazing experience. Check in was thorough and welcoming. We booked on a partial sea view room and the room was alright - some of the furnishing was a little dated but the Heavenly bed and the amenities were just excellent.

Breakfast was amazing at the hotel and the live band / singers at Breeze were outstanding.

The Infiniti pool was ok. Food is pricey - so its best to become a Starwood Privilege member and get the discounts. Service is just impeccable all round. Forget about the beach - wish the hotel took more attention to it.

Will definitely come back.

Room Tip: At the airport, there is a Westin lounge for guests who have stayed in the hotel.

When i was looking for a hotel booking, in Langkawi, I found this hotel quiet expensive; but my sister had already issued the tickets, so we decided to give it try "we only live once... so let's enjoy". we did not regret this decision.

The hotel is wonderfully located, you will have one of the best views in Asia. the check in was fantastic. we were welcomed with cold towels and drinks, we have been requested to sit and relax and everything was done. we got our room key and our holidays started.

the room was very clean, the view fantastic. there are two pools: one for kids and the second for adults. a pool bar. the hotel is right on a very beautiful beach.

oh i forgot the Gym facity, the Jacuzzi, Sauna and the squash court.

the food was excellent too. one of the best breakfast in Asia!.

we enjoyed our stay and
