We stayed at holliday villa where the breakfast was really expensive, lucky for us Cactus resturant where just across the street. The interior may not be fancy but the food and the service is great... and it's cheap! Their coffee and especially their café latte (or B52) is the best yet in Langkawi.

They close the breakfast at 1 PM and open up for dinner at 4 PM. A cozy hangout with a friendly manager who gladly talks about the island, it's history and recommended tours.

Many choices on the menu. The service was fantastic. Sometimes there can be a wait...that's because frequently it is packed full. What does that tell you? In one week's time, we ate every breakfast there, one lunch, one dinner, and one dessert. Great atmosphere!

We went there for breakfast as we were staying across the road at holiday villa, not much variety to choose from, the service was quick but the food not up to the exception. I have to be fair about the staff they are very friendly. Overall it's ok for the price.

This cozy restaurant is situated near some big resorts where mostly senior travelers from Europe lives. The restaurant has an Europe/German wibe, with a lot of soccer team shirts and flags on the walls. The service was ok and they were friendly. The prices ok. We paid 22 RM for fresh juices, "Singapore noodles" and "seafood noodle soup". The food didn't taste anything. My girlfriends noodles tasted like ketchup! The noodles in my soup were overcooked and the seafood too. Would never eat here again. We had a better lunch for 10 RM at a place nearby.

We visited Cactus many times during our 2 week stay across the road at Federal Villa.
It seems that different people run the breakfast shift, 8 am-1pm than the dinner shift, 4pm - late. Both are very good.
Breakfast items range from local, Nasi Lemak 6RM with coffee included, to European style combos. Scrambled eggs with toast, fruit juice and coffee 10 RM. The more expensive combos are closer to 20 rm but in that kind of heat we didn't really feel like anything too substantial for breakfast.
Pineapple
Pancakes were 8RM for medium size ( more than enough for 1person) with maple syrup.
Good food and service varied from super quick/ fantastic to ok depending on how busy they were.
Dinners were fantastic here! Service also varied depending on how busy they were but overall it was fantastic. The menu once again has a wide variety from local to European.
Satay was tasty, chicken or beef or mixed, 10 sticks 10RM.
Tom Yum soup was also very good 6 RM.
Cactus style beef with chilli, capsicum onion and celery 16 RM with rice.
Steak with pepper sauce and chips was suprisingly good!!! very tender! 30 RM

Cactus is not fancy but it serves very good food. It is usually packed with people staying at the Holiday Villa and Federal Villa. My belly is usually super sensitive when it comes to food hygiene and I had no "issues"!!!
