The hotel looks great, very new, great gym, great staff and very tasty food. However the rooms are very noisy, make sure not to get a room which has a door to you neighbours room. The live music at the bar/lobby is terrible. You can hear it even in your room, Unbelievable that they dont stop the live music. The aircon in the room Does not work if you dont move, so at night the room gets really warm. The infinty pool is great but i would not recommend this hotel because you will have bad night sleeps.

Dear 83-Stefan-83,

Thank you for taking the time to review us and to share your experience with us.

Please accept our sincere apologies for the discomfort you and your family (especially your baby) experienced during your stay with us. Agreed, the live band was terrible and I’m happy to inform that we have since replaced them.

There was an issue with the sensor for your room and we have since rectified that too. If there is no movement detected immediately after the main door is closed, the logic board would recognise the room as unoccupied and regulate the temperature to 26°C. The A/C is fully functional when the room is occupied.

Happy to note that you found our hotel great in other aspects; from our talents, to food, gym and the pool.

We do hope that your sentiments would change and that you would consider staying with us again if your travel brings you back to Langkawi.

Sincerely,

Ammar Kevin Eu
General Manager

The Aloft is part of the Marriott group and has a touch of class about it. Just about a year old, the property is new, modern, clean and well maintained.

The breakfast spread is fairly extensive and there's something for everyone's taste buds. My wife loved the the roti canai there and spoke to chef Firdaus about making it. He graciously agreed to meet us on his day off and taught her how to make it. My wife also participated in a cooking class the hotel had organized as part of their activities. Chef Auri gave my wife some helpful tips about Malaysian cooking post the class as well

We were too tired to step out for dinner the first night that we arrived, and had dinner at their restaurant. It was easily some of the best food we had in Langkawi, so much so, that I had the same claypot noodles as our last meal before we headed back to the airport.

They have a gorgeous swimming pool with jacuzzis to laze around in. The poolside bar makes some lovely cocktails which are quite reasonably priced and comparable to what you would pay for at any beach side restaurant at pantai cenang.

It's a 3 minute walk across the road to pantai Tengah and a short cab ride to pantai cenang.

The service is efficient and comes with oodles of smiles. A special shout out to Hannis who is part of the restaurant staff. On our last day during an early dinner, she realised that we had to head to the airport and she offered to drop us there. Not only that she waited for us to finish despite having finished her shift, that too on her birthday! It's certainly things like these that one remembers long after the vacation is over.

This is a new hotel and it’s very modern and clean. We were upgraded to a room that had 2 sun beds on the balcony and a great sea view. The hotel isn’t on the beach but you can walk there in 5 minutes or the staff will take you there on a golf buggy! The staff are really helpful and friendly. The pool is lovely although there were not enough sun beds when we arrived, maybe the staff should remove towels from beds when people haven’t returned to them after a certain amount of time. There was also a strange seating area in the middle of the pool that nobody used. Design over function I think. The rooms and hotel are lovely. I liked the fact that they supplied flip flops. Breakfast was excellent and the chef that made the roti was a delight, as was his roti. My only gripe is the lack of a mirror in the bedroom, really useful if you want to get ready while someone is using the bathroom. As with most of the hotels we stayed in you are no longer supplied with small bottles of shampoo etc. I absolutely agree with this but have found that the separate shampoo and conditioner is replaced with the single conditioning shampoo which is rubbish so we had to purchase conditioner from a local shop, not expensive but a bit of a pain. Just a note for the ladies for when your hair has had a lot of sun!

There are loads of restaurants within walking distance and you can hire scooters pretty much next door. If you are planning a trip to Koh Lipe then check where you are departing from as there are 2 ferry ports on Langkawi one 5 mins from Aloft the other 35 minutes away by taxi.

Would highly recommend this hotel if you’re staying in Langkawi.

Ended up booking on short notice, after having issues with my previous hotel. From the moment we checked-in, we had a truly wonderful stay. The room was very nice, with a lovely view. There was also a great breakfast spread. However, undoubtedly the best thing about the hotel is the staff, who were super helpful - a special mention to Najib (the intern) and Priya (the reception manager). Thank you!!

The stay in hotel left me with mixed feelings. Pros: The rooms, facilities, qualities is Bonvoy standard and the expected. Large and comfortable rooms. Pool is great with nice view. The standard Marriott like hotel.

The cons: the hotel does not have own beach facilities which is a problem in Malaysia. You need to pay 35 ringing per bed at the near by hotel or crash the bar in other resorts.
Breakfast was ok, not much variety compared to other sister properties.

Neighbourhood: kind of slow and quiet, ideal for relax and chill but more like a village/rural neighbourhood. Nature is nice but not really a wow factor to be honest. Beach has nice sand but water is muddy. Overall Langkawi is emerging and nothing much yet, reminds me of Phuket some 25 years ago.

Price we pay was approx USD 250 a night that will get you 5 stars elsewhere. Although hotel was about half empty they refused to get us a higher floor and no perks at all.
Overall, hotel is nice - the surrounding is the killer .

Dear Nachtman,

Thank you for staying at Aloft Langkawi Pantai Tengah and for taking the time to write a review.

We have been working very closely with the local authorities to secure our very own space by the beach for our guests to sun lounge. We hope to get this approved in writing soo.

Please accept our sincere apologies for not being able to accord you an upgrade to a higher floor as we’ve been averaging an 89.85% occupancy this year. We would have gladly honoured if it were available.

Sincerely,
Ammar Kevin Eu
