Owner description: Note 1: We have a German shepherd on board. She is very friendly and everybody loves her. Note 2: we are not halal and most my guests wear swimsuits on the cruise. Damai Indah and Damai Indah Lagi are charming traditional wooden cargo-boats that Eva, the only lady-captain in the area, has converted and renovated to become luxurious charter-boats. She and her crew are passionate about sailing and offer cruises around the archipelago of Langkawi on the highest standard possible. Food is cooked fresh on the boats either by Eva herself or by a professional chef and caters on the highest level possible for all nations and diets. The bar is always well stocked up and includes most poplar drinks and spirits. The cruising area is the north east of Langkawi, close to Thailand and covers the most beautiful islands of the archipelago; far off the beaten track. If you opt for a sharing cruise or a private charter – you will be in good hands! my phone number is listed with whatsApp

I booked Damai Indah on 29th Nov 2013 in conjunction with one of my boys' birthday, and it was worth every single penny and more! Even my 67-years old mom agreed! There were 4 adults and 3 boys aged 3, 8 and 9. What was supposed to be a sharing cruise became a private charter for us!! Eva and her crew went through the trouble to ensure we're all comfortable and believe me this is hard considering the different age grps in our party. The boys are still talking about their experience on Damai Indah, swimming in an open sea especially. Thats their first! And the food is tasty too!

It was raining on our trip and it was already great. I can only imagine how it is when weather's good. The Damai Indah experience is something you wldnt want to miss when you visit Langkawi. I know i will return..

Thanks Eva, Agus and the rest of the crew, for this great experience!

It has been two months since we returned from Langkawi and Eva's cruise - still missing the wonderful moments there. We spent our honeymoon in Langkawi and after surfing online we were attracted by the charming looking of Damai Indah. The days we planned on sea met the worst weather of Lankawi but Eva/Gerd helped us to make a change. So even in the thundering season, we had a best memory with other Australia guests and Eva's crew. The cruise itself was extremely gordious bring us deep relax & good food/wine, the most important is the easy-going& private armosphere on the yacht - definately not the experience you can get from other crowded cruise. Dim, if I remember his name correctly, the wonderful rapport, was always very helpful and informative. And we had a BIG surprise at the end of the cruise - Eva's crew organized a celebration for our honeymoon without telling us! they just knew that afternoon when we set out... we felt so emotional when every friend threw flowers and blessing us. This is more beyond a cruise... so we will come back in another day.

We had a quick look at Tripadvisor once we arrived in Langkawi and decided we wanted to try a cruise. It turned out to be the highlight of the trip.
The boat itself was beautiful, solid polished wood and obviously well looked after. You can sit on the top deck and pity the other folk heading out in large groups on soulless ferries. With a beer. From the free bar.
We spent the first hour or so taking in the scenery and talking to the 2 other couples on the trip (who were both also lovely).
We stopped after an hour or so at a small island and had a little swim/kayak and walk around a little beach. Which lasted an hour or so and was all very nice.
We then started our journey back while dinner was served on the top deck. And what a feast it was. Curried potatoes, chicken satay, tiger prawns, vegetable rice, homemade coleslaw. Everything was prepared and made by Eva and her staff.
After we returned to the dock we sat for another couple of hours listening to tales of the sea and having a drink with the crew.
We really can't recommend this trip enough, I'm sure you've been on a few excursions where you're treated like a number on a spreadsheet, portions are rationed and service is curt or the staff are generally disinterested. This is definitely not the case on the Damai Indah. If you enjoy boats and interacting with humans then you won't regret it.

We were initially drawn to Eva and her Damai Indah Luxury Cruises due to all the top notch reviews we saw on Trip Advisor and we are pleased to say that these reviews don't lie!

To celebrate (or commiserate) our last day of vacation, we decided to book online the day before through the Damai Indah website and processed our payment through PayPal which was easy.

We found out on the day there was no one else booked in so we were upgraded immediately to a private charter!! Bonus!! We met the vivacious Eva who made us feel so comfortable and at ease immediately, offering us drinks and giving us the tour of the Damai Indah and telling us the story of how the boat came into her possession, if you have the chance to go, make sure Eva shows you the "before" photo, it is unbelievable!

We were then introduced to her crew, her "son" Agus and Annika. Both immediately welcomed us and showed us the same kindness that Eva had.

We set sail with cold beers in our hands, it was a lovely day, probably one of the best that we had in Langkawi as there was a bit of rain and cloud on the duration of our trip.

Seriously, there were no boats anywhere, it was as if we had a Private Charter of the entire Ocean! The only boats we saw off the far distance were fishing boats and the eagles above to share in our adventure. Once we docked, we were invited to go in the dinghy with Agus and/or use the kayak. We were going kayaking the next morning so we went for a tour with Agus to pointed us to different parts of the island, and shared some stories about his life. Agus took us to this beach and we spent about a half an hour of pure paradise enjoying the view and feeling the salty water cleanse our skin.

The delicious food was another major highlight of the trip, we enjoyed a crab salad (I think that's what it was) but it was so refreshing with the lime juices infused in it. Then the main dishes were a pineapple fried rice, traditional german sausages (made in Singapore by Germans for their Oktoberfest celebrations) which were absolutely divine, grilled fish, chicken, coleslaw (again, not your average coleslaw as Eva makes her own mayonnaise!), and dragon fruit. Eva also made these german style apples and another german style dish. Truly divine, in fact, I can't believe she can cook all those delectable treats in such a tiny kitchen. :-)

The wines, spirits and soft drinks were free flowing and served in crystal glasses. After we docked, Eva invited us for a few more drinks to enjoy the evening. Agus made me this calming ginger, lime, and honey drink to calm my stomach as it was a bit uneasy (not from the cruise, probably just due to a bit of overindulging!) which did the trick.

We couldn't locate our taxi, so Bon (Eva's friend) took us back to the Andaman. Bon kept us entertained during the 45 minute drive with his stories.

This was a perfect end to a fantastic holiday, thank you Eva, Agus, and Annika for making our trip to Langkawi truly unforgettable!!

First of all, millions thanks to Eva & crew! I had great experience with Damai Indah Lagi Cruise. We depart from the Jetty at 3pm with another 2 couple, Eva and her crew makes us feel comfortable and welcome as they are extremely friendly! +-1 hour after the journey, we stop at small island, in here we were jump from the cruise and swimming around the cruise and some of us take a canoe to see the island nearly and it was great experience! (only around the cruise for safety purposed). During that time, they also provide speedboat to bring us to the nearest island/cave. In other word, 5 in 1 activities! and for those who only want to relax on the cruise, they will definitely have a wonderful moment with delicious food cooked by Eva! after 30-60 mnts the cruise moved to the place whereby we had sunset and dinner are fully served, the view were amazing! we were very lucky as on our way to go back, we saw few Dolphins around the cruise, it was our memorable moment! Highly recommended!!
