Dear Traveller, if you are traveling overseas, its good to visit the religious or spiritual places to get a better understanding of the religio-cultural aspect of the place. If you happen to visit Johor Bahru, do stop by Sultan Abu Bakar Mosque and see how the Muslims pray and appreciate the architecture of the mosque by the Father of Modern Johor. We stayed in Tune Hotel Danga Bay and its on the way to JB city and you can see the Istana Besar Johor (castle) and many other attractions along the way.

If you are a non-muslim, please observe the dress code (long pants for men, and head and coverall for women) in respect of the Islamic tradition.

Different buildings have different moods. Because the building is more white than other colours, it is more real then fake in its age.
Like the saying goes: a picture is worth a thousand words

Closed to non Muslims. The outside is worth seeing but may not be worth the journey.

Big signs proclaiming "Non-muslims not allowed inside". Maybe they should publish that little piece of information in their tourist guides, rather than saying you "may" have to wear a robe.

Its an interesting place but getting a good photo is very difficult from the back parking lot (front facing the water is the interesting side). If you aren't Muslim, you can't go in but you can walk around the grounds and get a few photos. There are normally a few hawkers selling some paintings, etc.
