Duty manager - Ms. Liana which on duty on 1st February 2014 is very rude. Late to provide room for 2 hours yet refuse to apologise. Just explaining rooms are full on previous day which are not our problems.
When we ask her to write to us for apologising but she just walked away without any answer. This is how A Manager works in your hotel?

It's CNY & hometown is a ghost town so we escaped across to Renaissance JB.. A very new hotel with wonderfully helpful and friendly staff. Booked the Jnr Suite on the 8th floor.. Love the spacious room and comfort. Extra large master bathroom plus an add. spare bathroom in the living room. Am pleased with the in-room coffee machine .. Club lounge is on the highest floor with a nice seaview. Overall, am enjoying the stay. We'll be back definitely!

I stayed here with my family during Christmas week, primarily to visit the two theme parks for children (Legoland & Hello Kittyland). The hotel is fantastic - rooms are nice, breakfast offers wide choice (delighted to find crispy vegetarian dosas) and staff are very friendly and helpful indeed. I was particularly impressed by Navigator (concierge) Mr Sahruddin who made sure all my logistics (taxis) are well taken care of - hence my special thanks to him.
One point to be noted is that these theme parks are quite far from the hotel (around 30 to 40 kms distance), and the hotel operates free shuttle bus service to these theme parks only on weekends and not on weekdays. Hence the taxi fare becomes a significant cost to be considered.
Overall I would really recommend this hotel.

stayed twice over the months
brand new n superb hotel in johor.
staffs were top class n very attentive
wheelchair access is ok.
but not much activity for kids, if only they make the pool abit more colourful, it would attract more family i think.
could be the best if the food is improved ( average so far )

Room Tip: rooms in level 06 leads you right to the swimming pool

It was a long anticipated getaway that my partner and I planned for. Renaissance JB Hotel lives up to it's high prolific background and certainly is by far the best luxury hotel in Johor Bahru.

We arrived on the 27th December 2013 and we were greeted and attended by Chester who was an amazing and attentive navigator. He was extremely polite and provided us with vital informations about the hotel and recommended us to sign up as a Marriot blue card member to enjoy free wifi in our room. So thumbs up, Chester!

Both of us were in awe with the interior, the huge spread of breakfast buffet and the attentiveness of the staffs of the hotel.

Unfortunately, we had a little brush with what we though was quite a distasteful non event. We wanted to have seafood at Senibong Cove (which was rather near, 10 mins by cab) and we had approached James (a navigator) hoping that we can get his advise on how we can return back to the hotel after dinner at Senibong. He seemed rather clueless and replied to us in quite a condescending manner.

He said "Perhaps, you can have your seafood dinner at Senibong and worry about how to get back later…" Both my partner and I was shell-shocked upon hearing his answer and decided to proceed as planned. We were extremely upset and flabbergasted. Thankfully, it didn't spoil our fabulous dinner by the sea. The restaurant owner was kind enough to offer to call a cab for us. And in the cab returning back to the hotel, we thought the restaurant owner at Senibong faired better than James - the navigator. Hmmm, rather strange indeed.

Nonetheless, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Renaissance and will definitely be back again - but this time we will avoid James at all cost.
