Excellent service, ambiance, setting and everything in general. The rooms are spacious, comfy and elegant. The entire hotel is beautiful. There are so many many details I could gush over but I will leave at, it is a place that pampers and coddles you while offering intimate encounter with gently rugged beauties of the natural world.

We stayed for only a night, during our transit in JB. It's a pleasant stay, despite the durian smell in the first room we were given, which were replaced quickly by the hotel. It is more convenient to take taxi to get there and if you donot have your own transportation, you could only wonder in the neighbourhood which pretty much got lots of street restaurant, massage parlours, karaoke, etc. There is one small Aeon mall that you could go to as well. Too bad, there is no cinema nearby for us to go to. The gym is good and open 24 hours which is great for gym goers.

Service at checkin was good, with the GRO bothering to step out from behind the front desk to pass you the key card after registration, rather than sending you off immediately. Good service touchpoint.
The entire team Cafe BLD where we had our breakfasts is fantastic, providing prompt clearing of soiled dishes and making small talks with us. Caring yet un-intrusive service.

The bedding used is of top quality and we had a good sleep. Even the mattress used in the baby crib is of a top brand (we check eveything before letting our boy to sleep on it)
Water pressure is very strong and that make the rainforest shower so enjoyable.

Here comes the cons...
Parking is a hassle as we will need to validate the coupon at both reception and parking machine before driving out. If not, the gantry will not allow exit. Twice, I have run back to parking machine which is not encouraging if you have a toddler wailing away at the back seat.......

Lobby looks a little too 'metallic' without any flora and fauna, not even a flora centrepiece which is expected of any international five star hotel. It will make a positive first impression for any guest arriving for the first time.

Room design and offering is not as luxurious as the other Renaisance/ Marriott hotel I have stayed in before in other parts of Asia such as China, Thailand and other parts of Malaysia.
But they are adequate and basic for sure.

All in all, hotel is ok for a short stay.

Room Tip: We were accorded with a room on 12th floor poolview. However, we noticed that they have a room on 6th floor with direct access to the pool. WIll be great if you have kids...

We stayed 2N during a recent trip to Legoland. It is quite far from Legoland but I prefer this location to the other hotels in the heart of JB. Many seafood places a 10 minute drive away. Walking distance to coffee shops, convenience stores and a little further away is McDonald's and a large Aeon shopping centre.

I like the security - the lifts will only take you to your floor and it is only accessible with your room card.

The hotel room is very comfortable - good sized room with a king bed. But I am not really keen on this new fangled theme most new hotels now seem to sport where you do not have any privacy in the bathroom/toilet (glass wall between that and the bed). Service was quite good although we had to call a few times for bottled water (was not provided when we checked in or replenished the next day although it was supposed to come with the room). The minibar does not come with a freezer section.

Breakfast was a most satisfying experience with a wide selection of Asian and western cuisine. In-room internet service was good - complimentary if you are a member (if you are not, just call down to reception to sign up for free).

Forget about the swimming pool - very small. And if you value your peace and quiet, don't stay on the 6th floor where your room is directly accessible from the pool area.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed and heartfelt review of your time spent at Renaissance Johor Bahru. I am particularly happy to know that our location was fit to preserve you and our guests a true of serenity and a conveniences to experience local discoveries. Your security is very important to us and we are glad that you receive a level of security assurance while you stay with us. It is our pleasure knowing that you had a good experience with our comfy bed, yet your comment regarding the glass shower wall will be taken into our future consideration of renovation. There is actually a wooden covered rolling door between glass wall of the bath room and bedroom where able to be closed for more privacy and convenience. I am sorry for the slow response of your request for the bottled mineral water. I will forwarded your remark to our In Room Dining Department so that they can improve their services. Our minibar is function for cooling purpose, but we will look into the necessity changes possible in the future. Our wifi usually become one of the most favorable facilities praised by our guests, however no doubt that some weakness might occur during uncertain circumstances. We apologize should you encounter such unpleasant experience with it.

BLD buffet restaurant has been known as the former buffet restaurant in town offering more sections of live cooking performance, making it a wonderful dining experience for every guests.

Once again thank you for your constructive comments regarding our staffs and our hotel in general. We look forward to host you again soon.

The new hotel in JB is lovely. The room was spotless and spacious compared to over the border in Singapore. Well worth the money. The Navigators are amazingly helpful, even with tricky issues (lost bag in a singapore taxi). The location is great as it is out of the main JH hub and is more precefull and relaxing.
All the staff were polite, helpful and friendly at alltimes. Andy in the Chinese resturant has delicious dim sum for all to eat, even if you are not staying in the hotel. Give it a try. The Navigators arrange taxi's for you and this helps avoid any possible language problems (not that this happens much in Malaysia).

Room Tip: We stayed to the left of the lifts with a view over the school grounds acrossthe road. Great views from this side of the hotel. Excellent if you like watching storms or ports at work.
