San Low sea food restaurant in Taman Pelangi area is quite famous in town. It is just ten minutes drive from the city center. This is a typical local restaurant with plastic tables and chairs, very simple cutlery. Mostly Chinese people visit the place, because it is non-halal, serves pork as well. Not many expat comes here, but I think they really should. If you don't mind the shabby environment and you like good local Chinese tastes , this is your place. The various sea food dishes , fish and prawn are very good, I can recommend the Drunken prawn ( cooked in Chinese wine). They prepare other dishes, chicken an dork, they even have wild meat, for example roar stew. Good news , that they serve beer as well. The restaurant most famous dish is, the fried bee hoon. This is a typical Chinese noodle dish is prepared in a special way, which gives some extra taste. The process was invented here by the owner and made the place one of Johor iconic restaurant. The portions are big and cheap. The seafood fresh and tasty.
Although the restaurant is big, always crowded and noisy , because of the open style and the big crowd.
If you want to blend with the local, this is the place for you. Do worries, they speak English, the menu is in English as well. The stuff might not awfully kind, but they are kind enough and the waiting time is reasonable .

Large open aired venue ('restaurant' doesn't quite seem apt) very busy & popular with both locals and visiting Singaporeans. I thought the food was fantastic - typical Tze Char seafood fare - and what we had was extremely tasty & fresh. Every table seemed to have ordered their signature fried bee hoon dish with it's crispy wok seared crust and delicious seafood stock-infused noodles. Ridiculously cheap (compared to Singapore or Australian standards) our entire meal for 4 extremely gluttonous adults including drinks was about MYR 200!

Oh and free WiFi to boot - always a bonus for us travelers :-)

Good food, had 2 black pepper crabs, curry boar, San low beehoon and 2 100 plus for 130myr. Black pepper crab excellent, as good as Jumbo in Singapore, nice and spicy. Only downside was attitude of staff, unfriendly and hard to get attention. Also restaurant is in rural location and hard to get taxi back to hotel.

This is a very popular place amongst the local and you need to soak in the local culture in order to enjoy this place well. So what is the local culture ... it is a slow pace style, so don't expect your orders to be served like in MacDonalds, it is more towards french dinning but not fine dinning. Be prepared to spent 2-3 hours for your meal here. The seafood is fresh and reasonably priced. My favorite dish here is their "San Low" Fried Vermicelli with seafood in semi dark soy sauce. The chilli crabs here are fresh and juicy too. Being a busy place means that if you order many varieties, they do have a tendency to forget a couple, so just make sure they didn't charge you for what you didn't eat and you will be fine. They won't cheat you, it is because of the high customer traffic and everyone orders a feast, so they do miss a couple of orders at times. I guess it is general rule ... every action gets an equal and opposite reaction, so enjoy, hang loose and don't fret the small stuff.

7 people dining at there for RM300++ .We ordered kanhiong crab but they give us chilli crab. The crab is not fresh at all !!! We ordered their most famous bihun but we waited for an hour and never come.
The most important part is all the face of the workers just like u owe them 100 millions, if u need help they all act like slow-mo.
I won't spend my money on trying their food. Please AVOID!!!
