San Low sea food restaurant in Taman Pelangi area is quite famous in town. It is just ten minutes drive from the city center. This is a typical local restaurant with plastic tables and chairs, very simple cutlery. Mostly Chinese people visit the place, because it is non-halal, serves pork as well. Not many expat comes here, but I think they really should. If you don't mind the shabby environment and you like good local Chinese tastes , this is your place. The various sea food dishes , fish and prawn are very good, I can recommend the Drunken prawn ( cooked in Chinese wine). They prepare other dishes, chicken an dork, they even have wild meat, for example roar stew. Good news , that they serve beer as well. The restaurant most famous dish is, the fried bee hoon. This is a typical Chinese noodle dish is prepared in a special way, which gives some extra taste. The process was invented here by the owner and made the place one of Johor iconic restaurant. The portions are big and cheap. The seafood fresh and tasty.
Although the restaurant is big, always crowded and noisy , because of the open style and the big crowd.
If you want to blend with the local, this is the place for you. Do worries, they speak English, the menu is in English as well. The stuff might not awfully kind, but they are kind enough and the waiting time is reasonable .
