“needs improvement.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2013

i booked on line for the hotel rooms and with a reputation of being a former Pan Pacific, I thought I had paid for a at least four star hotel. But once we came out from the car at the city-square parking and entered the lobby by the side door, it does not look much. The front desk staff was very efficient though and had upgraded our room from a twin to a double and single as we had our daughter with us. the room interior needs improvement. Luckily we did not spend too much time in the room as we were crossing over to Singapore and only stayed at night. Breakfast was just ok. There were too many tourists groups from indonesia and china. If only the hotel could arrange trips to USS or lego land at a cheaper price, it would make up for the other shortcomings.

Had stayed at 918, as others had feedback. The hotel had seen better days. The hotel was able to provide the amenities, perhaps it was cutting costs. There was bath towels for two, there wasn't face towels. One lighting wasn't working well. Tooth brush & tooth paste wasn't provided. On the outer looks grand, room interior could be further improve. It can access thru City Square fr level 2, look out for the Jalan Wong Ah Fook road, walk through the walkway beside the Central Bank. Cross the road & walk along the Aeroline office up a slope, then cross over to reach the main lobby. Needs some navigation at the start. Thereafter, it becomes earlier to get around.

The hotel has really fallen from its grace. I remembered the last time I was here many years ago it was not that bad.

Driving into the car park, the state of the car park and its lift more or less prepared me for what I'm about to get by staying at this hotel. One of the two lifts serving the car park is down and the remaining one looked well-used. And do note that the closing doors does not repond to the button pressed outside and it closed rather quick.

Check-in was good, the staff at the counter tried his best to find rooms that we required. When we gotten the two rooms we booked, one had a broken toilet flush while the other has a dead air-conditioning system. Calling up the operator and very quickly the technician responded rapidly. The toilet flush was fixed but the air-con broke down in the middle of the night and my friend decided calling up the technician as his kids were sound asleep.

The bed were not good in my room, one mattress had a sunken center which made sleeping rather challenging. The complimentary coffee and tea bags were there but the packed sugar and creamer were found to have some stains from previous spillage.

No toothbrush, razor or even comb were provided. And only bathing towels were provided.

During breakfast when we went down at nearly 9am, we were surprised that many of the food were badly in need of replenishing.

While I understand that the hotel is undergoing major renovations, I'm very disappointed with the hotel with the state of the rooms and its breakfast.

My friends and I had decided that there are better hotels around the area for our future visits.

Most time choosing the hotel was on business stay. Good experience during check-in. Front service was good with well explained upon check-in. Early arrival and allow to check in early. Due to non available for king size bed, instead offer a bigger room and additional bed with better view in return for my convenience of early check-in. Thumbs Up!
Free Wi-Fi for guest. Free parking, too. Room is tidy and spacious. However, one thing noticed that the hotel is still having the old and bulky size TV whereas most 4 stars hotel already with flat screen TV. Hmm...update please... Some light buttons cannot function and the air-cond temperature cannot be adjusted. Leaving it cold at all time. Feeling uncomfortable especially after shower. Hotel should have routine check to ensure all things works well. Breakfast is good and with lot varieties. I will still return again.

This was my second visit, my first was few years back when it was still named as Pan Pacific.
i am quite disappointed with those front liner, the manner when talking to guest is always the main concern of mine.
Puteri Pacific's breakfast serve till 10.30am, and i was almost late for it. (reach restaurant @ 10.25am) When i bumped into the counter, giving the servicing person my name and room number, he acted like my displine teacher, serious face and told me: breakfast only serve till 10,30am. and i replied: so..can i still walk in for breakfast?...and he said: just take whatever left...

this is rude....

2nd incident: as a guest, carparking is a complementary. but we need to obtain a card to validate the parking ticket. friend of mine walked to the reception and request for the complementary card. Receptionist given a face with doubt, and asked... you staying here ar? (twice)...
Question should always be: Hi Sir, may i help you? ...i see, let me help you to get the complementary card, and i will need your room number, car registration number for registration.

room is fine, but maintainence needed. some powerpoint is not functioning/water heater is not functioned as per the temperature.
the towel is stink...

of course...there are good review too: some ground staffs are friendly.

The Puteri Pacific was found on the net and booked through Asia rooms. We had no idea what we would find when we got here.
It is an older hotel which is clean and neat - - the rooms are large with a separate shower and bath. The rooms do need some updating but they are more than adequate and as I said they are clean.
Staff are friendly and helpful.
Breakfast had a large variety but nothing outstanding.
My one criticism is that there is nothing in the rooms to advise you about the hotel. we decided to eat in and had to go on line to find out what restaurants were in the hotel - - this could have been saved by a information booklet which is common in most hotels.

book thro Agoda, Check in on the early morning of 5th Oct. Room was a Princess Deluxe on the10th floor, room look spacious but furniture look dated, with general amenities. The king bed has seen better days as its sunken in the middle ! (we check-in 1+am, so was too tired or bother) we make do with another Super-single bed include in the room. Minibar was empty accept for 2 bottles of mineral water, notice 1 bottle's seal has been broken but still left on the counter.

Bathroom also look very dated, the stain has eaten into the grouting making the tiles look dirty, wash basin took a long time to drain.

The lobby looks glam, but its totally different look in the rooms. The management seems like taking a very long time to upgrade the rooms. If u have more cash to spare try other hotels...

Room Tip: come after they complete their Renovation & upgrading !!
