“Good budget hotel”
Reviewed October 18, 2013

Stayed here for 1 night for business trip. Colleague booked a standard room for me - but we went to have a look at the room before I stayed for the night. Decided to have look at their other rooms available - chic designs. I took the design mini suite - each room had different designs. So, the staff was nice enough to let me look at the rooms until I was satisfied with the rooms. Some of the rooms had mirrors next to the bed or on the ceiling which would not be comfortable sleep-wise. Overall, it was a good stay.

I stayed here for 3 days 2 night, i was amazed the look of their rooms from their websites and it was exactly awesome in real life. the room was clean, lobby was clean, staff are friendly, everything was perfect. it was a really good stay. the room not too small. comfortable for 2-3 people in deluxe room. plus they also have design room for more pleasant experience.

but however the area might be quite far from Johor Bahru, about 15 minute driving. despite the area, everything was awesome! i had a really pleasant stay.

Room Tip: try to have their creative design room. experience a different stay!

Love the decorations that gives the hotel a nice touch. Location may be out of the way in midst of shops/industrial but with GPS no problem for us.

Shops and restaurants are nearby within short drive.

Breakfast is disappointing, cafe run by the reception staff the next morning, they did not provide enough food for all guests and many items were running out. Free wifi was not working fine for us.

Won't mind staying again though for a simple overnight place.

Stayed there for 3 nights for some business around Johor Bahru. It is located on the inside rows of shophouses and away from main road, so finding it can be a bit difficult. But the hotel design (either chic or garish, didn't matter to me) and colour (purple) stand out from neighbours. It was converted from one of those old 3-storey shophouses. The area is busy during the day but gets quiet in the evening.

Staff was polite and helpful. The hotel accepts Mastercard but one would still need to pay cash deposit of MYR50 (~USD15); remember to have it refunded upon check-out. I took deluxe room with promotional rate MYR128 with breakfast. Keycard, breakfast vouchers and card containing wifi password given at check-in.

There is no lift to the higher levels but I saw some rooms on the ground floor, further inside from reception. Room was quite spacious for the rate; compared to other budget hotels I've been to. It was very clean (though I saw 1 tiny cockroach on the last night) and neatly prepared.

The room has a tall narrow window. Got coffee-tea making facility. No closet or dressing (or any) table (or chair) but there are hanger-racks and low side-shelves. The folding bathroom serves as the full-length mirror. There is LCD TV, I did not turn it on but I think they have satellite broadcast. Internet via wifi was complimentary and very fast.

Toiletries (toothbrushes etc) provided. The bathroom was slightly narrow (the folding door almost touching the toilet bowl when open) but long enough to have comfy shower section. Has overhead shower with pumped hot water. Very clean and the floor always dry up by the morning.

The downside of having slightly larger room is perhaps slightly thinner walls. I could hear TV sounds at night and snores early in the morning from the room next door. Perhaps it was because the rooms have adjoining doors. Not sure whether the hotel have rooms without those doors. There is a notice at the reception telling guests not to raise their voices in the room.

Parking is at front of the hotel, by the roadside; first come first serve. It's a public parking space but the hotel would leave parking coupons in the morning. There's a security guard posted at night.

Breakfast is mediocre. Toasts, eggs, baked beans, cereals, watermelon slices, coffee/tea. There is a small restaurant across the street (Indian-Muslim by the day, Thai at night) that closes at 3am.

The hotel is very good compared to other budget hotels that I've been to; facility-wise and cleanliness. Recommended.

Spent two nights at this hotel. Got quite a cheap deal from groupon that cost me $99 for 3D2N stay. Request to change room to experience other design room. Was allowed to do so.

Hotel is considered near to Jusco shopping center only if u drive. If you don't, it will be a little troublesome to ask reception to help you call for a taxi. Remember to take a name card at the reception. Many of the taxi drivers does not know how how to get to there unless u explain abit.

A hint to taxi driver is 'PETRONAS' which is a petrol kiosk near to this hotel.

Hotel is very very quiet both in the day and night. It will be good for family to spice up the hotel a little. Else the quietness will make the hotel looks a bit "eerie".

Design room is really small. However, space for a couple is no problem. To me its a little suffocating because theres no window in the room. Don't get a nice sleep because to me its a little eerie.

Breakfast is considered negligible because of the limited variety of food as well as hygiene.

Still, its a nice hotel that worth exploring with family. The hotel is well kept, clean and the design is cool. Friendly staff makes my day too.

Lastly, room is not sound proof. Can hear people talking, walking, etc from outside. others can also hear you from inside. you got what i mean. O.*

Room Tip: -Good to drive. -Ask to experience other design rooms -Stock up instant noodles and mineral waters...

It is a very NICE budget hotel in JB area, 15 mins away from CIQ by driving, even better than the "famous" budget hotel in Malaysia.

Room price from RM 88 on awards with a complimentary breakfast.

There got 24 hours security and free parking (they provides free parking coupons).

Room Tip: If you travel with your loved one, I strongly recommend to choose Designer Room, just RM 128 / night...
