Very bad place. Located beside of a highway. Far from every where that you think. Difficult to find taxi. No Bus. Very very noisy. Air-condition in corridors were off. only fans working. Safety box was damaged in our room. Cleaning toilets and trash bin was very poor.
I stayed in Tune at KL and Penang. They were also budget but were good.

Room Tip: Pay more to better hotel is better to pay a lot taxi fare.

Dear Guest,

Thanks for the post stay review of our hotel.

We apologize for not meeting up to your desired expectations. We put a lot emphasis in ensuring our rooms are clean, comfortable and service is top notch.

Tune hotel Danga Bay is positioned as an optional holiday choice to explore Singapore. Hugely popular for the ones wanting to spend their cash outdoors, at the newest attraction; Legoland. Shuttle service is provided by Odyssey at minimal cost

If you need to catch a cab, our front desk will be able to call for one. If you are playing with a budget, our hotel is ideally placed to attract holidaymakers looking for good value for money.

Thank you for the review and we hope to have the sincere pleasure of welcoming you back soon

Warm Regards,
Sharon - Customer Care Manager

I am lucky enough to stay at this hotel on a monthly basis and it never fails to disappoint (except very tiny problem). The staff always remember my son name. 95% the front desk are always efficient, friendly and really are a pleasure to deal with!

The rooms are clean, bright and I always get a great night sleep! Except the size is too small for 3 of us. We have difficulty to pray in the room. No problem for short stay but for us who stay for months for 3 persons is a bit difficult, our movement very limited.

My only slight gripe is one staff at front counter.

Most frustrating when my card need to renew weekly. Middle of showering my son suddenly the power shut down and i need to bring the key to front counter to reset.

For short stay, good location, clean and bright hotel with good rate (book early via internet), high recommended!

Room Tip: Higher floors (double bed) wil provide nice sea view.

What would you expect with a room that cost merely US$15/night? For me, pretty much nothing. But hey, this property surpassed every expectation I have when it came to budget accommodations! Large comfy bad, decent size room, in room safe, powerful shower, quiet location, everything included in this amazing price tag!

Sure you can spend more and get yourself a 5-star hotel, but why? Save the money to get yourself a 5-star experience outside of the hotel!

Location:

I can't really tell you how good or bad the location really is as Johor doesn't really have a "town centre". If you drive, great! It got plenty of parking available for guests and it is totally free! If you're here for Legoland, hey, they got a shuttle bus there everyday in the morning and returning in the afternoon. Craving for food? restaurant is just around the corner!

Security:

Johor Bahru is not exactly a town known for great security, so basic precautions is always preferred. But the hotel itself is pretty safe and I wouldn't recommend leaving the hotel area after midnight anyway.

Dinning and Facilities:

The room comes with a bed and hot shower, everything else cost in a very reasonable price. A/C is RM15 for 12 hrs, it charges on a countdown meter, so 12hrs should last you for 2 days. You can pay another RM15 for TV and in room WIFI, but why? You can get a DiGi SIM card at the airport of any cellphone show for RM25, that gives you 5 days unlimited 3G connection.

Towel also cost, so bring you own. There's a 7-11 downstairs for your urgent need of just about everything that you might need.

There is also an Indian restaurant on the 1st floor of the hotel, and buffet cost 9-12RM/person.

Services:

There isn't really any service here, so I can't comment on it. Check-in staff was friendly, house keeping did their job to keep the room clean and tidy, great!

Rooms and Sleep Quality:

The rooms in this tune hotels are a lot bigger than the one in KL LCCT, it is actually quite decent in size, wouldn't feel trapped when inside the room. Bed is very comfortable and A/C is working perfectly fine.

Will I recommend it? Definitely!

Tips:

1) Johor is not know for great public transit network, renting a car is probably a lot easier for you to get around. Car rental cost around RM100/day with GPS and gas is about RM 1.5/L. The hotel itself is no more than 15km drive on hwy to any tourist attraction within Johor.

2) DiGi (Cellphone service provider) offers a RM25, 5days unlimited 3G pay as you go service, and it can be purchased at the airport or any cellphone store, why pay for WIFI?

3) There is this restaurant named "Breakfast @ 7" about 5 mins walk away from the hotel. It serves huge portion Indian style breakfast at a great price, opens at 8 daily.

4) Shuttle leaves for Singapore Santosa and Legoland every morning and return at evening, book in advance through tune hotel's website or give them a call.

5) The crazy Chinese Shopping area + Chinese food district in Johor is called Sutera Tanjung, about 10km drive from the hotel.

We parked our car on 2nd Feb 2013 just right outside the hotel in the view of security guard. Next day when we checked out, our car window was smashed.

That hotel nearby got police station and yet police not doing anything. Notorious place with many drug addicts and our car was targetted. Hotel residents not guaranteed car park lot within the vicinity.

I will not recommend Tune hotel Danga Bay to anyone. Not safe

Dear Guest,

Thank you for completing a Trip Advisor Review on your recent visit to our hotel.

Am sorry to hear of what had happened during your stay and regret the inconveniences this had caused you.

The theft occurred outside the premises of our hotel, where supervision is beyond our control. Nonetheless, we have added additional security personnel to ensure our hotel and the environment is safe and secured at all times.

We hope you give us the opportunity to once again welcome you onboard and provide you the positive Tune Hotel experience you have come to expect from us.

Near the Danga Bay. not far if want to go Singapore. Public transport is hard to get in the nearest hotel area, we just can ask the hotel's staff to contact taxi. it just take 10 minutes by using taxi to go Johor Bahru city centre and Immigration to enter Singapore.
