As I return to the UK after 19 months, I realise I will miss this restaurant more than any of the others I have been to. Yes, it's tricky to get to (though think of it as an adventure!): yes, the area is unattractive and sometimes noisy. But to step inside this wonderful place is to be transported into a slightly old-fashioned version of France. The bar and restaurant beautifully complement each other, the food is exquisite, the waiters don't rush you and you pay a fair price for a truly gastronomic experience. I visited Chez Papa 5 times during my stay and now wish it had been 10!
