Me and my friend were pretty happy to stay at The Friendly Gecko in Malawi.
Clean, facilities good price. Excellent for our purpose, as we wanted to do lots of sightseeing around the Lake.
The space was nice size and quiet, safe. We found some good stuff, useful materials. It was nice to have a kitchen to make our own meals when we wanted. Finally, our stay was very pleasant, thank you very much!

I stayed here for 6 weeks in the private cottage while volunteering with Help2Kids. The Private cottage was very nice. There was a big comfy bed, a black board on the wall and a small sofa.
The house itself is really nicely decorated and feels very homely. The paintings on the walls are very cool. The kitchen has all the stuff you need to cook.
The house was always very clean, and the private cottage was cleaned every day.
The garden leads right onto the beach which is beautiful. The sunrise over the lake every morning is just incredible.
Everyone who works at the Friendly Gecko is really friendly, and Annette's cooking is delicious (I still think about her amazing bread rolls!).
The Guesthouse is only a 5 minute walk from the market in Lifuwu.

Thank you so much for the feedback and taking the time to write a review! We are so glad that you enjoyed the accommodations here at the Guest House and that the decor gave the House a fun and cozy feel. We strive to create a welcoming and relaxing environment. Watching the sunrise over Lake Malawi is certainly a great way to fully appreciate Malawi's natural beauty (and since we are right on the Lake you can crawl right back into bed afterwards!).

I will pass along your kind words to Annette. I assure you her bread rolls are still delicious, as are her newest discovery, pancakes!

Thanks again for your time and we hope to see you here again in the future!

First of all, It was such a great idea to explore Malawian villages - I've never seen so many people with smiles on their faces.
I went there with a friend of mine for my winter holidays. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was amazing. A generous and friendly welcome, very clean rooms, good food and very reasonable prices. We choose this guest house because it is very close to the lake of Malawi, a perfect place to relax. There is wi-fi so I can still check my business online.
It is a guest house I can thoroughly recommend.
