We spent five days at Anjajavy as part of our honeymoon. We booked on the basis of the positive reviews we had heard and were not disappointed. It was low season and the place was very calm and quiet. The rooms are beautifully designed and well kept. We went on both the Moromba bay the mangrove sundowner excursions. I'd recommend both but would favour the Moromba bay as the coastline is stunning (although as previously mentioned the visibility for snorkelling isn't great). We walked a lot, sometimes with the guides Max and Rado who were very knowledgeable and friendly - recommended to see and learn a lot, but we also explored alone which was fascinating and we still stumbled across huge amounts of wildlife big and small. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially the manager Cedric who made every effort to accomodate his guests. This kind of paradise doesn't come cheap but the tranquil atmosphere, effortless wildlife viewing and pure escapism somehow makes up for that.

There's probably not much to add to all reviews except to affirm the positives. If you are tired, stressed and needed a break from your lifestyle, this is the place for you. The hotel is extremly quiet and peaceful. It is a little piece of heaven on earth. It has a spiritual feel about the place. And not only the place, but also a warm, friendly atmosphere that we felt throughout our stay. We found the Anjajavy to be nothing other than a wonderfull experience during all our stay. It was hard to leave and we hope to come back some day.
Warm thanks for all all Anjajavy team.

Beautiful room with polished dark wood floor, walls and ceiling. Lovely bathroom with corner bath with shower attachment and basin, a separate loo and bidet. A 2nd bedroom upstairs had 2 single beds, plenty of cupboard space and was very hot. Efficient a/c downstairs. A 1.5 litre bottle of water was put in the fridge in the room each day. Laundry quite expensive (eg shirt 3 euros, trousers 3.50 euros, socks 1 euro) but there was a pull out washing line over the bath for your own washing. A tv room/library with stocks of books left behind by other guests also had a computer with fast, free internet access. Waterskiing is available at 20 euros for 15 minutes. You can pay the bill in euros or dollars as well as ariary or credit card. We enjoyed the Moromba Bay excursion very much but the snorkling at the end was not very good, I didn't see many fish. Anjajavy is such a gorgeous place, good trails to walk on either on your own or with a knowledgeable guide, very relaxing as well, friendly, helpful staff, we loved our stay. The food was rather mixed, some dishes were delicious and some not very good. At both lunch and dinner there are 2 choices of starter, 2 mains (1 fish, 1 meat) and 2 puddings. Overall thoroughly recommended!

We spent 9 days at Anjajavy and words cannot describe how absolutely perfect and amazing this place was. It was heavenly. I dont know how anyone could ever think of faulting anything because it was all absolutely incredible. Our favourite part was the staff; after being here for 9 days you soon feel part of the family and there is nothing that is too much trouble. Daria, Nuncio, Cedric and the enitre team (Freddi, Rado, Snoden, Lucy etc etc) were all a dream come true and its going to be very sad to say goodbye. The food, beaches, excursions, rooms; everything was flawless. True perfection and we will most certainly be back. This is the perfect place to go if you are looking for a combination of beach / pool and things to do. The excursions, walks and wildlife trips are amazing and the investment the hotel makes in the local village and wildlife / forest conservation is exceptional. Not many hotels care this much! You must visit the local village and get to know the local people at the hotel and learn about the customs, history etc, its one part of our honeymoon we certainly enjoyed the most. There is absolutely nothing to fault; this place is heaven, pure perfection and we would like to say a huge thank you to Daria and Nuncio for being absolutely wonderful and to all the staff for making our honeymoon one we will never ever forget.

Set in it's own time zone to get the most from your day and only accessible via it's very own (labelled) 'international airport', Anjajavy is simply the most stunning place we've ever stayed in.

The rooms themselves are brilliant enough but the beaches, snorkelling, wildlife, activities, staff, service, all go to make this the one place you should stay in if you plan to go to Madagascar. Hang the cost (it's not cheap), pay the money, you will remember it for the rest of your life as somewhere amazing.

And it's true, the Sifaka's (a kind of bouncing Lemur) are everywhere and the most photegenic creatures on the planet ! Take plenty of memory cards for your camera.

Only complaint we had was the wine for some reason was insanely expensive, so we just stuck to beer which was reasonable.
