We have had been invited in a group to have dinner at Babel Restaurant.
The location is on the main road to Jounieh/Lebanon, which is easy to access on this highway.

The restaurant is completely new and once you entre this place you feel you entre a temple from the old phoenician stile, with huge and massive real stones and pillars.
The restaurant has 2 main levels and the height of the ceiling is more than 5 (!) metre. The ceiling is decorated like an evening sky with spots, decorated and shining as stars !

There is live piano and violine music in excellent condition.

The food:

The food is oriental in all sense with considerable number of starters ( meze ) and then from fish to meat offers all you may consider from the Lebanese Kitchen.

We were told that there is a slight "Iraqi" influence and the decoration and appearance on the long, dark plates: excellent.

The quality was fantastic and the taste of food was marvelous !

We will definately be visiting this place again.

I often passed by Babel without having the curiosity to pass by. The place is so huge, it scared me a bit.
I was wrong: babel, is a very nice restaurant located far from Beirut's crowded roads.
Every thing was good, the valet and their welcoming, the hostess who takes you to your table, the rounded tables they have and when you sit down, it takes a couple of minutes to understand that grandiose architecture: a temple style Walls and finishing. I founded very intelligent the way they dag a hole, on all the restaurant surface and installed the tables in it. That way the ceiling is much higher and the sensation of being in an open space is very nice.
First impression: warm peanuts and special bread with crushed olives: impressive.
The menu they serve is a normal lebanese set menu, but prep erred with a twist. Everything is special, from the homes, to the tabbouleh, the salads, fried birds, kebbe, to name a few. Even their meat is nice and tender.
After enjoying this varied tasty choice, here comes the desert: awesome. Ice cream with ismalliyeh, or other things where Babel mixes the traditional Arabic sweets with oriental components.
Go try it, you won't regret it.
