“Good party place - OK hotel”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 19, 2011

I went to Eddé Sands on a business meeting, and stayed in the "é l'hotel" up the road from the resort. This 3-star hotel is OK, with big rooms and a nice breakfast area with sea view. Ask for sea facing rooms on the 3rd and 4th floors (1st floor has view on brick wall and electric wires). The service is quite bizarre, either excellent or really bad depending on who you speak to and what kind of request you have. The Eddé Sands resort is a real party place, with nice pools and beaches, and good restaurants. The private bungalows are expensive but really wonderful, with private rooftop terrace facing the sea. Be aware that there will be noise coming from the beach on weekends until 3 or 4 AM.

My friend was visiting from abroad, and we decided to stay at the Edde-Sands Resort Hotel in Byblos, which is 37km from Beirut my hometown, as part of the program I prepared for us. Byblos is famous for its Nightlife, Heritage and the lovely Port with restaurants overlooking the Sea.. Our stay gave us the oppurtunity to explore Byblos Archeological Site, Souks, Mosques and Churches by day; have a lovely evening and dinner by the Sea; enjoy the Nightlife in the many pubs in the old area; sleep over comfortably.......and finally wake up and spend an entire day in the Edde-Sands Beach Resort!! The Hotel offered us many deals. First of all, free access to the beach for all hotel guests. Second of all, we had an early return from the pubs at night, and the Hotel offered us free shuttle transportation and free entrance to the Edde-sands VIP pool party that night!! Which was a blast.... and Third of all, we had a lovely Breakfast served to our room in the morning. You have a choice between an Oriental Breakfast or a Continental Breakfast, and because we were 3 guests, we got two Breakfast orders, so we chose one of each. Then headed to the Beach...... We had a Junior Suite with a seaview..... and the Hotel is a bit far from the Resort, and higher up, so actually it is quiet at night and the view is lovely, but it is not too far from the old Souks area and the Port (15 minutes walking distance). So I'd say, this is a place to hit if you're heading to Lebanon!! I would rate it 10 out of 10. Did I mention the beds are super-comfy??? :o)

Room Tip: Our Junior Suite offered two twin beds, and we ordered an extra bed, with an extra charge. It was wo...

The resort itself is beautiful. The customer service is rude, uncaring and unprofessional. There are security guards every 20 metres to give you the illusion of security at this beach. I left my bag for 5 mins to get my friend from the water. In that time, I had $500 and all credit cards stolen from my bag. Like someone (guest or staff) was watching the whole time. Edde Sands staff didnt utter a single apology, didn't offer any assistance or help...didnt point me to the police station, allow me to use their phone or offer me a drink of water after a horrible ending to our day. I dont care about the money, but how the resort staff treated me as a customer who had something bad happen to them was disgusting. Shame on you and your service.

My wife and I stayed in Edde Sands for 6 nights in July. We stayed in one of the Deluxe rooms which was right next to one of the swimming pools. The rates for staying in these rooms are cheaper during the week than on the weekend. The room was clean, tidy, had all the mod cons you would expect including wifi. A complimentary bowl of fruit and bottle of wine was provided on our first night. Room service was excellent, the food was really good and we tried the different restaurants / cuisines available. Most important and the reason we chose to stay here was the pool / beach facilities which are probably some of the best on offer in Lebanon. The location of the resort is also ideal for those wanting to explore Byblos. We highly recommend it and will definitely stay there the next time we are in Lebanon.

I stayed with my Husband in éL'hotel for 1 night in a Standard Sea View room for our second aniversary. It was a romantic charming weekend. The hotel is outside the resort but you can benefit from a free shuttle bus to the resort at any time. Our room was on the 4th floor with an amazing view of the beach and of Edde Sands resort. The room is very clean and modern. There's also a Vape machine to avoid any mosquitos at night. You can choose to take your breakfast in the room or at the restaurant however I recommend taking it in the room and enjoy the splendid view. You can have free access to to the resort (the beach + 3 pools). The resort is magnificient with a wide choice of restaurants, amazing nature and beautifully designed pools. Just what you need to relax your spirit and cut the daily life routine. If you're staying in summer, there will be wedding parties in the resort. So you have to bring your earplugs with you to sleep. In our case, we enjoyed the music from the balcony which ended around 1h AM. I was afraid to choose EddeSands hotel based on the other bad reviews, but based on my own experience I highly recommend this hotel and resort for anyone looking to spend a paradise in Lebanon.

We stayed at this hotel for a few nights on the way up to the north of LB from Beirut, the main reason we chose this hotel was because of the great beach and pools that they had on the beach...

When we arrived it was not what we expected for $200 a night... When we were cheking inn, they asked for our hotel voucher that expedia would have given us. We had the hotel voucher on our computers and phones but not in hard copy (we had been travelling for 4 weeks and did not want to carry one stupid piece of paper with us half way around the world) The reception staff had said they would not check us in until we had a hard copy of the voucher.. I offered to email it to them and they said no... so after 20 minutes of discussing the options and arguing with them, they let us check in. I know i should have printed the voucher out but they should be more flexible!

When we arrived into our room, we were not happy campers... in fact camping would have been a treat compared to the hotel room, the bed was lumpy and uncomfotable, when you sleep on your stomach, springs poke your ribs! There is a bathroom that is old, ugly but clean and there is an old television with 1 english channel.

The beach area and pools are FANTASTIC! In July the whole area is teeming with muscle heads from beirut who come to stand thigh high in the water of the pools and beach and dance and bop to music that is playes all throughout the day. At the end of summer, the partys stop and the numbers drop off ramatically and Edde Sands and Byblos itself becomes a place to relax and just enjoy the water.

I would not reccomend staying this hotel, the breakfast is average at best, beds awful and reception staff surley, indifferent and lazy! My reccomendation woud be to go pay $20-30 extra a night and stay at the Byblos Sur Mer which is probably the same distance away from the beach as the Edde Sands Hotel, and paying for a day entry to the edde sads resort.

If you are here purely for a place to put your bags and sleep ( and dont mind a lumpy bed), id say it is ok... but definaley not ok for any other circumstance!

Room Tip: Pretty sure there are none, they are all pretty sad and horrible...

we booked a room for 2 nights for our honeymoon , after less than 7 hours in the hotel , we change our reservation and moved to another one .

maybe this can give and idea about , the wellness they are claiming to accomplish .

before checking out we tried to talk to the manager just to express our disappointment , and maybe, give the hotel a second chance , and of course he wasn't there , nor the chef for the break fest , nor the driver to take us to the main resort( as we stayed in the building out of the resort )

so we said god bye to the aunts and insects in our room , and left!
