Not as famous as the next door Pepe 'Byblos Fishing Club' but far friendlier service, better value and great food. The staff gave us a warm Lebanese welcome and the selection of daily catch fresh fish was extensive and delicious. Good Lebanese wine list, book a table to get seaside position. Recommend the grilled squid and tabouleh - my favourite restaurant in Byblos.

Having read all other positive reviews I thought we have been just unlucky or made wrong choice on our food.
We have been at this restaurant for a simple lunch as we wanted to visit the Byblos site afterwards. We did not ask for any fish as we had checked the fish buffet before. Except the red mullets they were not looking fresh.
We asked for a fish soup and it was tasting more like a tomato soup with few shrimps inside. The octopus salad was very tasteless and old. The crabs (pané) were the deep frozen ones that you can find at any sumermarket of the world, they were served with a mayonnaise like greasy sauce.

On the other hand, I must confess that it was the most crowded restaurant at the old harbour of Byblos with a lot of locals eating there. So I assume we have just chosen the wrong food. I would recommend the restaurant, but the fish soup, the octobus salad and the fried crabs.

This restaurant came highly recommended by many locals so of course we had to go! It's on the harbor in Byblos (Jbeil) and at first site the restaurant itself does not look that impressive. But have a seat outside on the terrace with the view of the harbor (and at sunset like we did!) and you'll have a hard time leaving!

My husband walked around the area to the old souks (marketplace) and worked up an appetite soaking in the beautiful architecture and harbor views. You will find a nice long list of seafood menu items but the one thing YOU MUST TRY is a fish called malleefeh on their menu (not sure what the English name is). It's a smallish fish that is fried where you just remove the head, tail and one long spine and the rest can be devoured with a subtle tahini sauce. We could've kept ordering more and more of this amazing fish! Drink it up with arak, an aniseed flavored liqueur.

Service was great, waiters very patient and gave good advice. As expected with an open restaurant by the harbor, we were shooing away a few bugs but they brought ground coffee on a small plate that was burning and put it at the end of the table to keep the flies away and it worked!

A little on the pricey side but well worth it!

this restaurant serves a variety of Lebanease dishes and middle eastern seafood.it is overlooking the old harbor and the main road.the view is just stunning and that was incouraging to try lots of defferent dishes and drinks.every thing was about right.we thought it is a bit over priced but the food and the view paid for that.

One of the best seafood restaurants in the world. It is mainly seafood chosen by you and cooked the way you like it, brought directly from the sea in front which makes everything extremely fresh. Starters are mainly Lebanese typical stuff with a seafood twist. For pudding you get free fresh and chilled fruit, or you can chose something, mainly French, from the menu, like chocolate fondant, mousse a chocolate, etc.
The only problem is the service. It is good buy as the place gets extremely busy, the many waiters struggle to cope. Yet, this add to the charm of the place. It is 'the place' to lunch and be seen in Byblos, only a 30 minute drive from Beirut. I had lunch here 8 years ago and again this weekend and was pleased to see the place is as good as ever.
