“Little gem in Byblos”
Reviewed January 14, 2014 via mobile

We recently visited Lebanon and wanted to spend a few days in Byblos. This town, rich in history and beautiful architecture, was the highlight of our trip. Best of all were our accommodations. The Ahiram was the perfect choice for us. Small, friendly, clean, beautiful rooms, great breakfast...and reasonably priced. Located right on the Mediterranean Sea, our view was surreal. We will definitely come back to the Ahiram...next time during the warm months, so we can relax on the beautiful beach. Thank you to the owner Michel for our wonderful experience.

This is the second time we stay in Ahiram and I think we will always do. The Location is great and you can reach the old Byblos (Jbeil) walking at anytime either after midnight. Staff are great, helpful and friendly and they will assist you in anything you may ask. The sunset from the room is incredible and the view is great.
However, the breakfast is poor but the nice old man who works in the kitchen will bring you whatever you ask with a great smile on his face.
Bathrooms need renovation but the bedroom is good.
Two types of extra beds (small bed or Sofa) are offered, try not to take the sofa because it's too hard!

Room Tip: The rooms (105-205-305-405) have the best sea view and the largest balconies

We arrived in Byblos late in the evening without any prior booking and took a room in this hotel basis Lonely Planet review. Its a nice family run hotel just few minutes walk away from the city centre and the key sights of Byblos. We got room with a lovely view of the Mediterranean sea. Seeing the morning sun and sparkling sea from the little balcony was a treat. The room was clean and adequately furnished with a decent bathroom(working hot water shower) . Breakfast was standard Lebanese fare, not the best we had during for stay in Lebanon. Overall would certainly recommend this for its price, location and basic amenities.

Great location, in front of the sea, with a nice little beach at the bottom of the hotel, and 5 minutes away from Byblos historical center. Clean and nice rooms with a fridge (useful during summer !), comfortable bathroom and a balcony for each room. People at reception and all the staff are very helpful and friendly . An excellent address !

The views from the majority of rooms at this wonderful family-run hotel within walking distance of all the sights in Byblos are spectacular. Family-run, hospitable, clean, efficient, the Ahiram is managed by the indefatigalble Elvire who responds to guests' requests with a smile and in Arabic,French or English. She will organise taxis, excursions, free WiFi connections and anything else you want.Beach towels are provided. All rooms have AC and most have west- facing balconies where you can experience the stunning Byblos sunsets. Breakfast is copious with Lebanese specialities and fresh fruit with juice, water and tea. If you are a coffee- lover, ask for Lebanese coffee as otherwise what is on offer here and all over Lebanon is Nescafé. All rooms have a safe but wardrobe and cupboard space is limited. A few of the rooms could do with redecoration and updating. The Ahiram is neither a luxury nor a budget hotel. However, by its
location and quality of management, it is unbeatable.

Room Tip: Ask for larger sea-facing doubles on the fourth floor...and be aware of the fact that there will b...

After a long walk in the Ancient Jbeil (Byblos) or a day swimming in "Al Bahsa" Beach, enjoy your dinner on the Terrace with a great view on the Mediterranean, say to the sun setting : cheers and hope to see you tomorrow and then indulge yourself and rest in your peaceful room on the fourth floor on the rhythm of the waves.....

Room Tip: Room 405 with a wide view on the Beach

The place is very nice and had a view on the best Byblos (Jbeil) beaches. The hotel is very nice but a little bit old, rooms are newly renovated but bathrooms are still old. Management let you feel at home and they were very hospitable.

We had a problem in booking when we arrived the hotel (they gave us only 4 nights instead of the 5 nights we booked for) however, they reserved us a room at another hotel and gave us a generouse discount with a free complementary night to be taken we we get back to the hotel next time.

Breakfast is poor and the kitchen is too old. However, Byblos has too many restaurants and places to have your meals in.

Low season prices are very good but the high season ones are too much and you can find better places (but not same view) for the same price.
