Lorenzo's was recommended to us by the Italian man who owned our bed and breakfast where we stayed. We are so glad that we went. We read the reviews and some were quite negative unfortunately because we had a wonderful dinner. When we arrived it was early so we were the only patrons. The waitress gave us a choice of anywhere we would like to sit and seemed very nice. We looked over the menu and found no wine list. The waitress informed us that there wasn't one and the wines were on display. We checked them out and were not very impressed. Having to get up and look at them then ask the price and so on was a bit annoying so we ordered beers instead. No problem. We both had a mixed green salad to start. My husband ordered the capriciosa pizza with ham, artichokes and mushrooms. He said it compared well to the other tasty pizzas he's had in Malindi. I ordered the green peppercorn fillet with sauce and mashed potatoes. It was delicious! The meat was tender and juicy and there was not a speck of fat or gristle anywhere. Our waitress was always there to help us and was very courteous. The prices were expected for white table cloth service and excellent food. We will be back and recommend friends. One suggestion to the owners would be to print a wine list with prices so guests don't have to stand up and walk around the wine display. It kind of killed the mood so we ordered beer. Wine would have made dinner better! Thanks.
