“Excellent service and food”
Reviewed July 14, 2014

Probably the best seafood restaurant in Malindi. Top notch service Denis Masambo was our waiter that night and he was amazing. If you're in Malindi and haven't been, you're truly missing out and if you have plans to visit the town, do make it a point to have your lunch or dinner there. I had the grilled lobster and personally its been the best lobster between Nairobi and Malindi. If you're with children i recommend the fillet steak with chips/fries my sibling loved it. Well done!!! Keep up the good work!!

“Excellent little seafood restaurant”
Reviewed June 29, 2014

Some of the best seafood you'll find along the Kenyan coast (or anywhere else in Kenya). Have visited twice and have always been impressed with the seafood menu and wine selection. The sailfish dishes are particularly reccomended and the cocktails are outstanding too. The ambiance is nicely cosy and old-fashioned. Service can take a while since it appears that the kitchen is a one-man operation, but the chef knows what he's doing.

“excellent seafood place”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

Very nice cosy place to eat fresh seafood. The place is small and the staff are friendly. The restaurant makes very nice vegetables plates to complement the delicious seafood.

“Dinner on the beach.”
Reviewed May 20, 2014

The Old Man & The Sea Restaurant is a family-owned establishment on the Malindi beachfront, situated in the old town sector on Mama Ngina road, close to the Vasco da Gama Pillar. The food is deliciously exquisite and the service unobtrusive but attentive.
Whilst the restaurant specializes in fresh seafood - crab, tuna sashimi, giant prawns, kingfish, lobster, and my favorite, the Malindi smoked sailfish among a myriad others, it also serves beef steaks, mouth watering sauces, and to-die-for desserts.

“A Great Experience”
Reviewed May 9, 2014

If you are in Malindi this is a must! Went with 2 of my daughters on my birthday and really enjoyed the experience. The restaurant is simple - and there was a power cut - but the food is so so good. Spoke to the chef, who recommended giant prawns, which were squeakingly fresh and perfectly cooked. Washed down with a cold bottle from the basic but good wine selection, this was a great meal.
