“Not enough lighting.”
Reviewed October 26, 2013

The camp was okay, the staff was great except for the male cashier. My friend and I signed up for a couples massage since it was cheaper and my husband didn't want one. The price was $30 for a single for an hour and $50 for a couple. When she came to give us a massage, there was only one person, she said she gives us each one for 30 minutes. That didn't make sense at all. We then each got one for an hour. To get to the place you receive the massage you have to go by the swimming pool. When I came out of the massage place it was pitch dark with no lighting. I had to slowly put one foot in front of another. The pool has an added part that I didn't see and I landed in the pool. I could have hit my head and drowned but didn't. There was very little apology from the hotel. Our safari guides were furious and talked to the manager. Still not much of an apology. So.... be careful at night as this place does not have good lighting. Take a flashlight.

We spent two nights at this lodge. Tents were very comfortable, staff were very friendly, food was ordinary. Location with Kilimanjaro In the background is the strong feature of this lodge. Very recommendable.

Perfectly satisfactory though the food was rather ordinary. Fantastic views of Kilimanjaro, though I imagine the same could be said for any camp in the Amboseli. Wonderful evening show of Masai men traditional dancing around open fire under the clearest night sky we’ve ever seen. Tents were ok though tiny shower cubicle inside plastic curtains.

This was a great evening in our tented camp, it is not the Ultra luxury, although the beds were very comfortable, clean and very nice grounds. We didn't have time to check out the pool, however the food was great, the personal pan pizza was great as was breakfast and dinner.
I highly recommend if at Amboseli Park. (Lots of animals, especially Elephants.

We had a wonderful front row tent with a view of Kilimanjaro (on a good day). The staff in every location throughout the premises were friendly and accommodating to a T. You can dance with the Maasai at night and be treated to wonderful birthday entertainment (if yours happens during your stay). Prices in the gift shop are quite reasonable and Ndaa in the bar will take care of your every need. We made many friends and will come back again. Thank you Kibo for a wondrous stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a front row though you will not be disappointed with your stay.

A wonderful tented camp close to Amboseli National Park, with a clear view of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Tents are clean and well provided. Electricity is on twice a day, including from 18:00-23:00 at night. The bar and restaurant provide good service. The staff very helpful. At the end of a long game drive in the Amboseli, the pool is very inviting, but needs better cleaning.

Arriving from Masai Mara, Kibo appears like a splurge!!
We were well impressed by the accuracy of the settings, the nice large family tent on the first row just in front of the bush, the lively restaurant with large selection of food andgood service, the beautiful boma with fire burning, the swimming pool little and cosy which can help in the heat, and above all her majestic the Kili just in fron of us.
Highly recommended.
