We arrived about 19:15 after a long day of driving & the check in was a bit chaotic. A lot of people arrived at the same time so there was a mad rush & we had to wait a while before being given our keys. We explained it was our honeymoon & asked whether the honeymoon suite was available. A lady told us about 15 minutes later that she was giving us the honeymoon suite although I’m not sure this is actually true - the room looked exactly the same as any of the others with no specific ‘special’ touches. The rooms are quite far away from the main reception/restaurant but this isn’t really an issue as long as you don’t have any mobility issues. The room was good; huge with everything you need. The main restaurant is nice & the food was good - lots of choice. Our biggest issue was that after a really long day our driver’s room was given to another guide from a more well-known company. This isn’t acceptable. Our guide had to travel 36km to the nearest town to find somewhere to sleep. If we’d have known we’d have left with him! He also asked the staff to pass on a message to us which they never did & as a result we were waiting an hour & 10 minutes unnecessarily the morning of check out.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for sharing this review.

It is indeed true there was a big rush with many guests checking at the time of your arrival. The room you were allocated was actually our honeymoon suite even though it does have much special touches though except for the rustic bed, fireplace, the room is much spacious than others but from outside it looks similar as the other rooms. We also want inform you that we have plans to add more special touches as part of refurbishment. .

We are glad that you found our restaurant to be nice and the food was good with lots of choices. It is regretable the impression you got of your guide being treated unfairly. It is true that the guide who was given accommodation had booked prior to arrival and this was not properly explained to your guide. We also apologise that the information about your departure time was not communicated to you the night before.

We would like to assure you that we highly value your feedback and we shall work towards improving on the areas that we did not meet your expectations.

we would like to welcome you to stay with us again in the near future.

I spent 2 nights at the lodge in August 2019. It has views over Mount Kilimanjaro and Amboseli National Park which are breath taking.

The rooms (lodges) are simple, but spacious and clean.

I would definitely return.

Spent three days here on a recent safari. We stayed at other Sopa properties on the trip and this facility was not comparable to the others of the chain. The facilities were similar however the staff and service level was quite poor. Very slow service. Folks showing up late in the evening for a housekeeping check. No effort to ask about our stay. Food was never very warm at the buffet.

For the price, there are better, closer lodges to the park. The drive from the lodge to the park was a good 30 minutes or dusty, bumpy roads. You may want to consider the Serena or the Ol Tukai. Both much closer and much nicer.

We remain committed in ensuring that all our guests’ expectations are met and exceeded on the promise that has always been demonstrated by our friendly and helpful staff.

We are sorry for the state of the road to the park especially the time you stayed with us since it was dusty due to the prevailing weather conditions. The relevant government authorities have been trying to maintain this road from time to time.

We would like to welcome you to stay with us again in the near future to experience our promise.

We spent 2 nights at this terrific resort. The staff were kind and welcoming and the food was very good. The rooms were large, clean and comfortable and the grounds were very nice as was the pool. We were fortunate to see Mount Kilimanjaro on our last morning as the sun was coming up - beautiful!

On edge of amboselli and with great views of mount killamanjaro when it’s not cloudy it’s a beautiful resort to come home to after a hard day on game drives! Beautiful pool and bar area, monkeys on the grounds being cheeky and nice hut style rooms.
Food was delicious great variety and WiFi available. Hot water all the time!
Amazing staff very helpful and a Masai tribe market to shop at for authentic souvenirs.
