In January 2019 my brother and I were on Kenyan safari. Our first stop was Amboseli Sofa Lodge which is close proximity to Amboseli National Park of Kenya.
Staffs were very friendly and helpful. We loved Kenyan food. Mount Kilimanjaro can be viewed from the hotel. It was lovely. They have a good pool too.

Rooms and toilets are clean equipped with mosquito nets. Thank god we didn’t experience any mosquito bite.

Briliant spot, just outside the park gates. Withing minutes you are in the nature reserve and viewing elephants,, zebrs, hippos , etc. Better roads that the Masi Mara, but not by much (African Massage time). Lodge is built like local lodges , but have all the amenities you would want. Listen to the area at night fromyou small balcony or wander tthe gardens instead. great bar atmosphere..

We enjoyed a 2 night stay at the sopa lodge as part of a 6 nights safari. The staff were very helpful and welcoming, the bar staff were good fun, the food was lovely and Mark the restaurant manager was always at hand making sure we were happy. The pool area is lovely and best of all the place is inhabited by velvet monkeys 😃🐒 Overall a very pleasant stay.

Amboseli sopa lodge is a great place to stay if you are hoping to see the great elephant herds of Kenya! The main lodge is beautifully decorated and a comfortable meeting place if you are vacationing with friends or family. The individual round thatched guest cottages are nicely decorated and very suitable in the hot dry climate. The beds were comfortable, and enclosed in mosquito netting. The power was off during parts of the day so as to conserve the power from the generator. Meal times provided ample food with lots of variety. The service was especially friendly! The pool was perfect for a relaxing swim, with plenty of lounge chairs and shade umbrellas, and towels provided. The gates provided security, and the monkeys were fun to watch! The lodge is about a half hour drive on gravel washboard road to the gates of Amboseli National Park. The wild life viewing and the view of majestic Mount Kilimanjaro was superb! We would definitely recommend the Amboseli sopa lodge as a nice place to stay!

This is an enormous property with over 80 rooms/bungalows. Beautiful property with vervet monkeys everywhere. Nice room and shower but the towels were like sandpaper. Power and hot water are only on in the morning and evening, and wifi only in the reception area when the power is on. I was not a fan of the tall gruff 'Masai warrior' at the reception desk who is part of the check in process, nor his smell. I just wanted to check in, I don't need a show.
