This is a comfortable place, located very close to the entrance of the beautiful Amboseli Park, but beware it is big and operating more like a large hotel than a small camp. The main reservation we had related to the food, which really left much to be desired. On the other hand, the pool was great.

This camp has many great advantages. Location so close to Kimana Gate is wonderful for early morning game drives and access to the swamps full of elephant. The tents are large and contain everything that you would expect from a decent hotel in a city. And the staff are all helpful, attentive and eager to make your stay enjoyable.

Room Tip: The c loser to the main building and pool the better.

The "tents" were better than some hotel rooms I have seen. Yes, there may have been a few more bugs and geckos than I'm used to, but as far as camping goes, it was very plush.

The tents are so beautifully decorated and high end. The bathrooms are gorgeous, with sliding doors and double sinks. Great shower.

The buffet meals are delicious and there is a wonderful dining experience. Wifi works quite well, especially for the location.

Nothing can beat the view from the tents, looking up at Kilimanjaro in the distance. Amazing.

Right next to Amboseli, with easy access to the gate.

Room Tip: Rooms that require a longer walk are a bit closer to Kilimanjaro with a better view.

We stayed here for two nights while on photo safari with my 12-yr-old daughter. Located right next to the entrance to Amboseli as well as at the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro, the location was hard to beat. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The facilities are relatively new and in excellent condition. I did find myself wishing the tents had a bit of shade because it got really warm in the tent by the time we returned in the late afternoon after our game drives. And burning some mosquito coils might keep the worst of the mosquitos at bay because every evening they nibbled on us while we ate dinner. Overall it was an excellent glamping experience despite the fact that we had to deal with numerous bugs in the tent as well as at meals.

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon trip to Kenya. This was the second night of our safari trip. We had journeyed from Tsavo East to Amboseli and had experienced Kenyan roads at their finest! Amboseli was brilliant as a reserve and we saw elephants, hippos, baboons and lions, along with a variety of other creatures.

The camp was great - from the bronze ostriches in the foyer to the giraffe scupture in the restaurant, we loved every bit. Our accommodation was half tent half room with canvas living quarters and a brick bathroom. The quality was high and I had the best night's sleep of the trip! The food was plentiful and there was a large choice. The staff were attentive and helpful. One of the highlights was the observation deck at the top of the restaurant - we made a point of being up there for sunrise over Kilimanjaro - well worth the early start.

We wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Loved this camp. Rooms were very comfortable with a great view of Kilimanjaro all day long. Great food, the staff is just SO friendly that they make the stay just so comfortable and pleasant. And Esther the activities coordinator is just a doll. What a lovely woman. So avoid a hotel room and make this your place. My father, wife, and I just loved it.

Room Tip: Ask for a room right on the edge of the property nearest to Mt. Kilimanjaro. Great views of the moun...
