“Simply amazing!”
Reviewed May 8, 2011

We stayed here for one night during our safari and wish we could've stayed for longer.

The staff were, as we found everywhere in Kenya, very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent - interesting international cuisine that was very well cooked. Our 'tent' completely exceeded our expectations. It was more like a lodge with a spacious bedroom/living area and bathroom. The walls were made from a tough but breathable material meaning that it was lovely and cool at night and we had a great sleep here.

As this is an eco camp, hot water is only available in the mornings and evenings which was absolutely fine with us and caused us no problems. Electricity is also restricted to three times daily but this was again more than enough for our requirements.

The camp has a swimming pool and a complimentary 30 minute massage service. It also has a nice bar area and a look out tower which offers fantastic views of Amboseili and Mount Kilimanjaro. Going up there to watch the sunrise was amazing. We also watched a Masai warrior dance around the camp fire which was a great experience.

All in all, this place comes highly recommended!

This was the second stop on our 4 days safari arranged with F. Kings. We wanted the experience of staying in a camp rather than a lodge but were a little unsure what we could expect. We were amazed when we were shown to our "tent". It was raised off the ground and had proper doors, but with canvas walls. The shower and w.c. area was to the rear and was brick built,. The room had a large double bed and a single bed, with mossy nets over. As the camp is in an eco-system the electric gets turned off at 12 midnight but you have a battery operated light in case you need to get up. We had a great nights sleep - the only noise we could here were the frogs from the nearby pool.

The restaurant was large and looked out over the grassland. The food and service were excellent. There is a lovely large swimming pool - unfortunately we didnt get time to use it.

This is a fabulous camp and I can recommend it to anyone wanting a different experience, but still having luxury.

We stayed at the camp for the first 2 nights of our honeymoon last year and it was truely beautiful, we had perfect views of kilimanjaro and we had the whole camp to ourselves (out of season) so the staff were falling over themselves to make sure that our stay was perfect...we'd definitly go back and stay there.

The *tent* was very nice, comfortable and mosquito free, there was'nt evening entertainment as it was only us, but what more could you want than a sunset view of the mount and a few drinks before taking an early night before the next days safari.

AMAZING is all I can say. This is posh camping. What a lovely welcome and stay we had. On arrival our bags were carried to our 'TENT' and we were gven a beutiful lunch by the pool before off again for an afternoon game drive. We were offered an extra trip to a Massai Mara camp, which we did and was very good, it cost 10 african shillings. Back to our tents for a quick shower and then dinner. Would loved to have stayed here for a few days as it is so nice, with views of Kilimanjaro to die for, but had to leave as on a three day safari. All I can say is enjoy its great.

Travelled to Kilima Lodge, Amboseli with my husband after spending 2 nights in Tsavo East and West. This was the icing on the cake. We were fascinated by the character of the tented lodge which was really quite luxurious with its 'dressing room/bathroom' area and its large bedroom with 2 four poster beds and lovely furniture. The view of Kilimanjaro was stunning and this was also the view from the beautiful dining room. The care and attention
from the manager David and his staff was second to none - we felt very special as guests and would certainly visit here again. The 2 safaris taken from here were like something out of a film set. We were quite 'blown away ' by the whole experience. The Kilima Lodge is right
on the edge of the safari area. Would recommend to anyone.

Kilima Safari Camp is an incredible experience. I say experience because the staff, location, scenery, accommodations all come together to create a phenomenal African adventure, one never to be forgotten. The location, just outside of Amboseli National Park and looking out to Mt. Kilimanjaro, is Africa at it's finest. Every "tent" opens to Mt. Kilimanjaro so it is the first thing you see when heading to breakfast. Due to it's proximity to Amboseli National Park, guards guide the way to the tents after dark should any wandering wildlife come onto the grounds. The staff is more than accommodating: They are knowledgeable, helpful, eager, and so, so nice. The entire staff saw us off the day we left!

The food is decent, breakfast is divine, dinner and lunch were only so-so. There is a full bar, lovely swimming pool, and fire pit area as well.

The tents were luxury camping at its finest! They were spacious, clean, and fully equipped for anything a traveler might need. The laundry service left my clothes looking and feeling the best since purchasing them and the turn-down service at night was just another attention detail paid by the staff.

Kilima Safari Camp is a wonderful place to stay if you are considering a safari in Amboseli or Tsavo.

The Kilimanjaro view from the restaurant observation tower was spectacular. The morning sun bathing the mountain created a breathtaking sight, more than any postcard could do justice. You can enjoy the magnificent nature.
