We stayed here for two nights while visiting wonderful Amboseli National Park. The Sentrim facility is clean, has good food, and numerous tents spread over a large grassy area. These are permanent tents, with solid floor, bath and pleasant furnishings. We found our tent to be quite hot in the afternoon, and the locking method (mini-padlock on the bottom of the tent opening) to be awkward and of limited value. We also mistrust the cleanliness of a quilt/bedspread, which was on the bed. Otherwise, the room was good, if unexceptional, and we had no issues. The highlight was the view of Kilimanjaro from the camp in early morning.

I spent my first night on safari here and was simply amazed!

It seems hard to believe that they call this a camp! Tents were extremely spacious and more like rooms with beds, furniture, electricity, separate bathroom and shower, outside seating area and even lockable!

The restaurant was relaxed with a good choice of nice food. There was a pool and bar too.

We were truly in the middle of nature with birds everywhere at our doorstep. The park itself was a few minutes drive away. Elephants and lots of other wildlife in abundance with the backdrop of Kilimanjaro. Stunning!

Thank you so much to Transtrek Safaris for organising such a fantastic trip. This was the perfect start to our adventure.

Amboseli is out of the world - and this is coming after seeing the best national park/Safari @ Serengeti
It is just beautiful - with the backdrop of Kilimanjaro and the elephants.
Sentrim is a heaven of luxury right in the middle.
The rooms are quite good and well furnished.
The food is decent - with some dishes that are amazing and some are OK - but considering that this is the middle of nowhere - it is excellent.
Staff - helpful and friendly
I would strongly recommend staying here
I would miss the nightly free Masai dance show as it is quite sad and pathetic and more of a tourist trap than anything else

You will enjoy the stay if you like to be close to nature. This lodge has all the ingredients to make you feel as close to the nature as possible. Right from the dinner area to the camps that you will be staying overnight, you will feel the thrill. The tents are equipped with one bathroom (with no doors) only curtain, plenty of hot water, no mosquito nets. Mosquito/ insect repellant creams recommended.
The Sentrim has a very good view point to for Mt. Kilimanjaro and the view is breathtaking. Nice food. the nights tend to get cooler and since, the camps doesnt have any solid walls, its recommended that you have warm clothing. One comforter provided by the lodge is not sufficient.
The electricity goes out at 11 at night and make sure you are back to your tent by then.

Sentrim Amboseli is located right outside the park gate, maybe a 4 minute drive. I was initially worried about us being far away. When we arrived at the camp we ended being put up in one of the 2 bedroom family houses. It was a very nice upgrade from a tent. We even had a fantastic porch facing Kilimanjaro. The food here was pretty tasty, they had the normal buffet, but they also had 3 stations making things to order every meal. Usually the best food was found at the station. During meal times there were a lot of birds to be seen, which was a real treat. There were even a couple of Hornbills. The grounds were nice, there was a short trail that lead to an incredible viewpoint of Kilimanjaro. The only issue I had with our stay here was there were NO BUG NETS in our room at all, there were also no screens on the window. Needless to say we got bit a lot! Also the power here is generated so there are some "no electricity times." They were while you would be sleeping though. I could see this possibly being an issue if it was really hot out and the fan shut off, but it wasn't hot at all while we were there. One upside for the power being shut off is that it is pitch black at night and you can see an incredible amount of stars. I highly recommend taking a peek after lights out!
