“Very beautiful”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2013

If you have a chance to go inside, I recommend. Take some tenge to buy candles, which you light and make a wish for each one you light. It's an Eastern Orthodox tradition.
While I was there a wedding was happening, but I would suggest exercising normal respect as this is a holy place. For women, the tradition seems to be to wear a headscarf upon entry.
Great pictures, and if you can go in late afternoon while the sun is shining on the southwest side, you can get some nice ones!

“Worth a stop while in the park”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2013

Iconic church on the grounds of Panfilov Park. Generally clear of trinket salespeople but you will notice carriage rides on offer along with food, drink and small cars for little ones to drive around on. Catch it in late morning or afternoon for good light to photograph. There are plenty of trees along the path to keep you shaded on warm days.

“Just Lovely”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2013

This is a Russian Orthodox cathedral and apparently the second tallest wooden building in the world.

It's easy to find, in its park setting. Definitely worth the effort to get to see this historical building because of its fine architecture and delightful colours.
