I have been living in Almaty for 8 months. While the idea of putting the customer first is a bit different in KZ from other places I have lived, it was certainly nothing unbearable until our trip to Wild Asia. This is a chic and modern looking restaurant with the theme of "exotic" and not necessarily Asia. The upsides of the restaurant end there. We came for the Wednesday night drink special. The service was slow and resentful of our presence. There were three other parties in the restaurant who were ordering much more food and paying the exorbitant prices. We were not welcomed at all because we simply wanted to drink and share company. Beers start at 900 tenge and drinks are about 1200-1500 tenge which is very high.Cheaper options are all on the menu, but the restaurant was mysteriously out of any option under 1000 tenge, which is just a ploy to get the customer to pay more. My friend ordered a drink special of orange juice and campari, and instead she got vodka and grapefruit juice. When asked to clarify if this was the right order the waitress was highly indignant. The hookah is very cheap, but they did not have our top, second, third, fourth flavor choice. The person who helped with our hookah was very kind and a professional. Overall, you have plenty of places to spend money in Almaty. If you are going to spend less than 300 dollars for dinner, the waitstaff with regard you with disgust. Please skip!
