“Another business trip another nice hotel”
Reviewed February 21, 2013

I had a three nights business trip to Almaty, organizer picked this hotel, little expensive but really nice one. Location is little far from city center. However view of the mountains behind the hotel was so nice.
Service was good, staff was great, bed is comfy and rooms were nice and large
So in general I liked it so much

This is quite a new hotel and it is a gem. It's a spa hotel at the foot of the mountains and the only drawback is that it is 30 mins from the city centre. However the rooms are enormous many with balcony with a huge bathroom with elegant dressing table. What's best in this hotel is the Hammam and luxurious pool with excellent and inexpensive - but Russian style - hard massage, really great. And secondly the staff who are excellent. I travelled for a day crashed into bed and scrambled to get to a meeting. I left my cases open with clothes strewn everywhere. When I came back an hour later the maid had popped in made the bed and unpacked everything hung it up or folded it in the neatest way I've ever seen. What service. Do not hesitate to stay here in Almaty for elegance and comfort. The only thing I would mention is that the food is both yet very international so if you are eating in the hotel unless you are adventurous there is not a great choice. True of breakfast too. But small point in lovely hotel in most welcoming city. PS we were picked up and taken to airport in snow fog and temps well below freezing. The drivers would win awards for safe driving techniques.

Really nice hotel with clean and big rooms. Warm floor in shower room, friendly staff, beautiful view from panoramic window. Also there is a SPA area available with three types of sauna and massage service.

This hotel is one of the good hotel in Almaty. The room is big and clean but little bit cold in winter, very kind staff. If you don't want to stay in downtown, maybe best choice in Almaty.

I was placed here by my company for a few days business, as the company had a special rate. First impressions were good as the hotel has a feeling of grandure. from the moment you walk through the metal detector at the entrance. The entrance area is huge with an enormous chandelier hanging over the centre area. Check in at 03.00 was courteous and efficient. Credit cards were swiped as deposit guarantees.

The room was undoubtedly comfortable: large bed - perhaps a little too hard for my liking. The bathroom was big, with two shower options- a shower cabinet, or stand in bath. The bathroom is well stocked with plenty towels, spare toiletries, etc.

The room has robes and slippers available, a fridge, safe, desk, tea and coffee available, and comfortable armchair. The room temperature was impossible to control. If you selected auto and cold, the room heated to 30 degrees, even in October.
Wireless Internet is free, but it does not reach the bedrooms at the far end of the long corridor. Other guests have also complained about that. It works well if you sit in a public area close to the check in area, or in the bar.

The hotel has a restaurant with large choice of western and asian food. There is also a bar which will provide light meals. Elsewhere there is a swimming pool, and fitness suite, but I had no time to visit those.

The downside is noise. My business hours required that I should rest evenings in order to start early mornings. As this hotel is popular with locals for weddings, there were two wedding parties during my three night stay. One was in a large ballroom which didn't directly affect my room but when the taxies arrived to take away the guests there was a lot of external noise from car horns. Following that, the staff were moving the furniture during the night (at 04.00) back to original locations. As the floors are marble then the noise tends to echo everywhere. The following late afternoon there was another wedding party, this time in the restaurant room directly below my room. The music was loud into late evening and the bedroom floor vibrated. With a pending departure of 02.00 for the airport, rest was impossible.

I would have preferred that the hotel was closer to city life. It does seem to be isolated and I was not prepared to negotiate taxis.

well i stayed here last month(Sep 2012) i must tell you the rooms are very spacious / clean / bathrooms are very huge. it overlooks the city, you can see the lights in the night. but it's a bit far from the city center. the hotel is deserted, there happened to be a night club but closed for renovations for sometime. but i would recommend this for a biz traveler.
