Having been destroyed in bombing action during WW2, they rebuilt this site in the late 70's based on very detailed survey information they made before it was destroyed.
The detail on the site is very nice. I was able to see and read through all of the information in just under an hour - it's not very big. Since it's a re-creation it just feels like something is missing....
If you're walking, getting to the site involves walking up a very large hill. The rest of Sendai is bless-fully flat but this is a hike. A taxi or any other car will get you most of the way up.
In my opinion it was worth the visit but not a particularly enthralling historic site.
