Any time it could be enjoyable to see this beautiful cherry tree. However, the time of most beauty is when the cherry trees begin their blossoming, usually in April..

Almost unbelievable that a tree could grow and split a giant granite rock. Located on the grounds of the Morioka courthouse. This display of nature is well worth a visit.

This is very old cherry tree that has endured hardship against nature. It grew out from granite rock and stand still till now, almost 400 years later. A must when you around the area.

We visited around April 20-25 where Morioka cherry blossom was at peak this year. This cherry blossom is super popular among Japanese tourist. I saw tour buses stopped by. Yes, this is worth it.

The tree is an old tree and grew out of a boulder. People in Tohoku where were affected by the earthquake see the life and strength from this tree. The tree has splendid cherry blossom.

Great example of the inexorable action of tree-roots, a metaphor for the power of slow, steady effort.
