very convenient location, best value for money (especially since Nishitetsu Inn is located next to and in the midst of Hariyamabashi!), great laundry facilities, convenience store in the hotel, loads of restaurants and shops around the hotel, also the main bus lines stop around the corner.

Good sized room, helpful staff, next to tram stop, close to markets, close to train station. An ideal place to stay in beautiful Kochi. This hotel is at a major road intersection where trams and buses all stop. Ideal for travellers without a car.

Nishitetsu has impressed with a line of business hotels which offer just a bit more flair than the usual business hotel Spartan drabness. The Kochi branch continues that flair.
I had a friendly and quick check- in and was given Room 1223, a double bed room looking north towards the main train station. The room was clean, bright and well- organized. There were not so many amenities in the room, since they put them in the lobby and between check- in and elevator, you can choose what you want to use from a wide range, a good idea.
The bed was comfortable and the room was very quiet, no noise from the outside or from neighbors.
The bathroom was a bit smaller than usual, even for a business hotel, and the tub was so small that I could not have sat upright with my legs stretched forward. But it was spotlessly clean and everything worked well.
Breakfast is in the back of a Lawson conbini adjacent to the lobby. It’s an excellent buffet, with the traditional Japanese items and additionally fried noodles with cabbage, fried eggs, and a really good battered fried fish. The fried fish didn’t look like much but the taste reminded me of my fave Cambridge chippie on Mill Road. And yes, it’s great for breakfast ;-) I had to hold back or I would have stuffed myself.
The setting is along the restored canal. The bridge which gives the hotel and neighborhood its name is also adjacent to the hotel. There is an arcade just a wink north, but even on a Saturday evening there was not much going on – it has seen better days, and hopefully the Nishitetsu , canal restoration along its modest length and other projects will help revive the arcade, too. There is a wonderful Bonito restaurant in the arcade. The hotel is also at the cross of a couple of tram lines, and very near the airport limo bus. If you want to walk from the main train station, it’s 800m, not so far and a straight path from the station, very easy.
All in all, it’s an excellent value, great location and worth considering.

Room tip: High floors give a better view and are farther from street noise.

This typical Japanese business hotel is strategically located in the center of Kochi, close to the airport bus terminal and directly at the Harimaya bridge (see fotos).
A large covered shopping arcade is also only a few steps away so you don't have to fear those rainy days.
The room was small but functional and the bed even was spacious and comfortable.
As is customary in Japanese hotels a free toothbrush with toothpaste is provided daily. Other amenities (razor; comb; shower cap etc) can be picked up free of charge in the lobby.
There one will also find a large convenience store (Lawson) with a seating area.
Several street cars (trams) and busses have their stops right in front or across the street from the hotel.
