“Good location for Naha”
Reviewed April 2, 2012

The location is great, as it is in the center of Naha's Kokusai Dori. The rooms are well kept and has free Internet connection. The staff are courteous and although still in the learning process, pleasant. As there are many hotels in the area, the competition is great so you can tell they are trying hard. If you are looking for the beach, you should stay somewhere more north, but this area is good for sightseeing and for going to the convention center.

Hotel JAL City Naha is centrally located on the Kokusai Dori Street, so convenient that you can shop and shop and return to the hotel for a break inbetween. The room is clean and comfortable, a bit bigger than what I would expect from a hotel in Japan. What was missing was body lotion in the washroom so remember to bring yours.

The staff at the reception was helpful and they gave good recommedations on restaurants.

Overall experience very good. However it would be better if there will be English translations on the communication materials.

This hotel is well located on the main street, but the room we took, although a double, was quite small as often in Japan not allowing to store efficiently your suitcase. The bathroom is a typical business hotel unit, very compact.
On the positive side, in room free cable internet, and there is a great buffet, both for lunch and for breakfast at a reasonable price in a good looking restaurant.
The friendly staff spoke enough English to get around.

I went to Okinawa for a conference at the Okinawa Convention Center. We originally stayed at a hotel right near the convention center, about 20 mins away from the center of the city. The problem was that, other than the convention center, there was very little to see, eat, or do around there -- so I moved myself to the JAL City Hotel in Naha. Way more convenient to everything and still only a short 2000 yen cab ride away from the Convention Center.

The rooms are small -- Japan small -- just enough space for a full size bed and a small desk -- but that was totally fine. The location is what is key -- it is right in the middle of Kokusai Dori -- the "international street" that is the center of all the action in Naha. Restaurants, shops, the open market, and many bars within 5 minutes walking distance in any direction.

There are two monorail stops within 5 mins walking distance as well that you can take to many sites within Naha City. The breakfast buffet that comes with the room isn't bad either. Had it every morning.

Lastly -- the best part -- is that it was very reasonably priced! We stayed there for $117 a night. Which I thought was a phenomenal price in Japan (particularly since the dollar is so weak)

All in all, I'd strongly recommend this to any business travellers to Okinawa.

Room Tip: I think they're all good. Small and cozy, but comfortable.

This hotel is located on the International Avenue of Naha, the most convenient place for tourists in the area. They also have hotel parking where we could park our rental car there. Somehow I was told that the rate was 1000 yen per day, but we didn't get charged for parking at all.

The room is a bit small, but this is typical across all hotels in Japan.

We had complimentary breakfast during our stay. The breakfast has quite a lot of varieties (western food + japanese food). We also had a complimentary dinner for one night. We thought this would be another buffet dinner as the entire restaurant has a buffet setting. However, it turned out that it was just a set dinner with fixed dishes. The food was okay (western style food), and not too special. After the meal, we thought we should have ventured out to try out other, probably better, restaurants in Naha.

Overall it was enjoyable stay. The hotel was up to standard, clean, new and located in a very convenient location.

Very convenient location, attentive staff. Room a bit small. Free computers with Internet available for use in lobby. Convenient to the main street with lots of 24-hour marts and 24-hour fast food.

I stayed for 3 nights on the Executive floor. Good quality furnishings and nice view from the top floor. However, this hotel lacks amenities like a gym, lounge, or cafe. There is a restaurant that had a lunch buffet but I would not go there again because of the limited choices.
