“similar goods all over the street”
Reviewed October 16, 2013

visit Kokusai Street if u are looking for souvenir. if not, you can skip it as every shops are selling similar goods which you can get it in other attraction points or at the airport. and the price are all the same.
there are some restaurants but the waiters doesn't speak english much.
there are department stores like Mitsukoshi, but it is comparatively small & out fashion.

“Surprised... by how horrible it is!”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

Please be aware that this street is packed with shops playing loud music and selling souvenir items, restaurants for tourists and ugly buildings. If you go here thinking that you'll find a shopping paradise (as posted in previous reviews) you'll be very very disappointed. I only ventured to go in a couple of shops, the rest of them are totally a waste of time.

“Junk Street...Yawn...”
Reviewed August 21, 2013

How this so called "attraction" got such good reviews is beyond me. There is absolutely nothing to buy here, or even remotely interesting to window shop even if you don't plan to buy...every single store literally sells the exact same dollar store quality trash. I guess if you have zero plans and your hotel is in this area, you can head over to sample the purple potato tarts or butter cookies, which they sell at every store! Otherwise, do yourself a favour and skip this...big waste of time!

“Best place to buy souvenirs and junk food”
Reviewed July 25, 2013

Kokusai Dori or International Street of Japan is a very long street (more than 1km) where most of shops here selling the same items for souvenir, such as fridge magnets, keychains, handphone accessories, junk food, sweet drinks, salty ice cream, dolls, collection of cartoon characters, t-shirts, glass... etc. etc. price are quite expensive for me. fridge magnets about 350 to 500 yen.

i walked about 500 meters coz it was hot about 33dc. drink vending machines are everywhere so you can buy water easily. most of the small shops selling sweet drinks are not selling mineral water. i cant stand sweet drinks!

“shopping paradise”
Reviewed June 27, 2013

This is the street to come to for everything Okinawan. Because of so much competition, prices are also most competitive (when compared with shops in other areas of Okinawa). For example, glasses are cheaper here then in any glass specialty store and just as good quality. There is also a Calbee specialty store on this street. This street is very long and we didn't have time to cover the entire street. Parking is an issue, very expensive.
