The Hotel SolVita in Asahibashi is about the best choice we've made thus far for a hotel in Naha. To be clear, this is not a resort with beautiful views of the Okinawa coastline, nor does it boast any amenities of a resort. it is a business hotel, but as such it is an excellent choice. The rooms are typically small but more comfortable than most business hotels I've stayed at in Japan. The furnishings are modern and stylish, the bathrooms are very clean and relatively large. The lobby is extremely comfortable, modern and stylish, and the morning breakfast features a wide variety of Western, Japanese and Okinawan food, that varies somewhat day to day. The staff is friendly and helpful, and although I cannot be sure that English is available, I can report that several non-Japanese were staying there during our stay, and their experience seemed positive as well.
The hotel's location is unbeatable. There is a monorail stop right in front of the hotel, and the bus terminal is no more than a block away. The monorail travels straight from the airport and stops at most important locations in the central city. The main drag, Kokusai Dori, can be accessed by monorail or bus, but the southern end of Kokusai Dori is easily accessed by foot. In addition, as their are several hotels in the area, a taxi is easily had if necessary.
Sol Vita was a great choice for our trip and a gem of a business hotel in Naha!
