“Naha Beach Side Hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 5, 2013

I thought the rooms were quite lovely and the beds were incredibly comfortable. They even provided pajamas! As mentioned by others, the rooms are small, but rooms in Asia are often on the small side. I'd rather have a small, clean room than a nasty larger one! These were very, very clean, and the bathroom was also very clean and creatively designed to make the most of the small space. For example, there's a clothes line, which pulls out of the wall on one side of the shower and hooks to the other side if you need to line dry something (leave the door open, or close the door and keep the vent and light on overnight if you actually want it to dry, though!) There was plenty of hot water and the water pressure, which could be adjusted, was superb. There was a small fridge in the room, an electric kettle, and a hair dryer. The bathrooms had razors, toothbrushes, tiny hair brushes, soap, and shampoo. Fresh sheets and towels were provided daily. The staff were lovely, and they didn't make you feel like you were interrupting their work if you asked a question. Parking is, I think, about US$5 per day. You receive a coin every day that you have to use to let yourself out of the parking lot. Since the hotel is a bit in the middle of nowhere, it would be nice if parking were cheaper or free, though. They have bicycles available for rent (insert the key and use it like a lever, pushing down, to unlock the bike). If you just want to make a quick trip to the store or to Subway (the only nearby restaurant), then you can use them for free (up to 2 hours). They have free shuttle service to the airport (a 5-minute trip) every 30 minutes from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. There were four of us traveling together, and we all loved the buffet breakfast (6:30-9:00). There is something for everyone, assuming you like Asian food (and who doesn't?!) My sister and I follow a vegan diet, and we ate very well. Our husbands are not vegans, and they also seemed to really enjoy the food. When we were there, the buffet had fried rice, white rice, seaweed, natto, egg dishes, noodles, fried veggies (usually with meat), sausages, tofu and a nice variety of seasonings, soups, delicious fresh fruit, bread and croissants, seasoned laver, coffee, tea, and juice. I used the seaweed, tofu, soy sauce, mustard sauce, and sesame seeds with hot water to make seaweed soup every morning - fully vegan and incredibly delicious! With some rice, seasoned laver, fresh fruit, and coffee, I always walked away thoroughly satisfied with the meal. If you want to save some money, they also have a room price without breakfast, but to feed two people a quality breakfast, it's worth it to pay the extra $10, in my opinion. If you really don't want the breakfast, Subway seems to open at 7am and go to 10 or 11pm, but it isn't cheap, and you'll spend at least that much there for two people, excluding drinks. (That said, the avocado veggie sub with basil sauce is *divine*!) I'll take the hotel's lovely buffet breakfast any day! I would definitely recommend this place.

A really lovely hotel- our rooms was quite spacious (especially compared to hotels in Tokyo where we paid twice as much for half the price). We were on the 7th floor so we had sea views which were beautiful- but don't expect a beach to be on your doorstep.
The staff were all very friendly, the hotel was clean and quiet and the room had a big flat screen tv.

However, if you want to be in the heart of Naha then this isn't the place to be- for the first two nights we couldn't figure out where everyone was, until one night when we went for a really long walk we stumbled upon International Street- if you want the hustle and bustle then you're best to stay closer.

All up, we had a very enjoyable stay and I would definitely recommend for people who want to be close to the airport (it's about a 10 minute drive away)

We booked this hotel because it was part of a package...it was the cheapest option so we didn't expect very much.

Rooms: They are TINY. One side of the bed is against the wall, so you only have the other side to move around. It is dated but clean. There's not closet space; you can only hang a few shirts against the wall. There's a small CRT TV, which we never used. If they remove it or change it to a flat screen they can save some space on the table. There's a balcony and we had a room facing the sea, so that was nice.We had a toddler with us, so there's like no space for him to run around and with a stroller and stuff, there was really no space at all! So I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone with kids.

Bathroom: small. It is like a airplane bathroom + a space for shower. Tooth brush and stuff are provided, but it's small too like a kid's tooth brush.

Parking for JPY 500 per night.

Breakfast: It's average. There are not a lot of selection. 4~5 Western style food and about 4~5 Japanese style food.

Location: It is by the sea not very close to the Yui Rail, but it's not a problem if you rent a car, which most people do in Okinawa anyways. Or better deal to take a taxi from the airport to the hotel which was about ~JPY950. Apparently is free transport to the airport at certain hours; not sure about from. It is about a 10 min walk to the Naminoue Shrine and the beach.

Service: Service is quite good. Everyone in Japan is very polite. The staff at the reception didn't speak much English, very basic; but along with body language we can communicate.

Lovely hotel (& staff) but don't expect a beach on your doorstep...

There's also a golf practice range right next door to the hotel so you can have some fun on that too.

If you really want to go to the beach there's one that's only a five odd minute walk away and it's small, but quite nice :).

Ask for one of the upper floors, eighth to the tenth floor would give you a good view. The hotel caters for smokers but the rooms don't smell too nice, so do what my wife and I done and opt for non-smoking room people. If you do smoke you can go outside on the balcony or downstairs.

I gave the hotel an excellent marking as the quality of service and cleanliness of the hotel was superb.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the upper floors, eighth to the tenth floor would give you a good view. The hotel ca...

We spent two nights at this hotel, with a bit deceiving name, however, the hotel was nice a if you were lucky and above 5th floor sea view you could enjoy the views. Rooms are very small but clean and nice. We were a bit spoilt with Yugaf Inn, Nago, which was much nicer.

It's a bit far out of town and travelling requires taxis. even the airport was just over 1000 Yen. So not so much of saving here either.
The construction work outside between the hotel and the sea on a bypass road have been completed and the road traffic was not any nuisance

I see, that there are not many reviews in english, so hope this will be helpful for tourists travelling to Okinawa.

We travelled through Japan in march and april 2008 and spent a great time there. Our last stop was in Naha, Okinawa and lived 4 days in this hotel. We were fully satisfied with service and not expecting anything else for this price.

The stuff was very nice nad helpful but with very poor english. We had a little bit problem to found a hotel in Okinawa, where its possible to book it by email 4 month before we come to Japan. But in Naha beach side hotel was no problem. Communication via internet in english was very good. We came to Naha by ferry from Kagoshima and it was easy to find hotel and to get there from the port, its very close. Personnel was nice, room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was tasteful.

It little bit surprised us, that there is not beach, but we didnt missed it, in april is still cold for swimming and this was not our purpose of the trip. Beach in front of the bridge is really not very nice, only nice beach in Japan we saw in Motobu Ocean expo park, Japan coast is not very comfortable for swimming.

Naha is very nice city with very good restaurants in Kokusaidori (main veeeeery long street). Shikinaen garden is really pretty. Must see place around Naha are:
- Underground naval headquarters
- Gyokusendo caves and native village (1 day trip)

And be sure you really MUST visit Motobu ocean expo park, when in Okinawa, but its really far away from Naha. There are some shark whales and oher and its amazing.
