“Good location hotel”
Reviewed May 3, 2014

Hotel is next to Miebashi Monorail Station which is a safe area and very convenient for travellers carrying heavy lugguge. It is 5 minutes walk to the Kokusai Dori (the main shopping and dining area in Naha).
Hotel lobby is small with small dining area next to. Staff are nice. The room is very small which made us not easy to place our two lugguages. So hotel indicates that lugguage can be placed under the bed. Bathroom is also very small. Hotel provides Japanese style breakfast but not too many choice.
Our room is on the 4th Floor and the room was full of food smell in the morning even window was closed. I think smell comes from the ground floor kitchen and because our room near the the exit door, smell comes in when the exit door was opened. Overall the hotel is on average.

We stayed for our last night in Okinawa. The room is clean w/ free wifi but def small for 2 people. Free breakfast is good but you might need some time to wait for free seat as it's just few tables available. Reasonable room price around that area.

The hotel is located just In front of the monorail station, very convenient to take a train to the airport.
Around 5-minute to Kokusai Street, a popular 1-mile shopping street in Naha.

if you are looking for a budget location, this is the classic japanese salaryman hotels.
really small rooms by Western standards but typical for a no frills business hotel Nihon style.
free breakfast n friendly staff but very very limited English ability. Yui train station is real close to walk to nad you can get to the airport as well via Yui. walking distance to Hewa dori as well,
basic rooms and amenities but affordable for the single budget traveller

Room Tip: high floor gives you some limited view of the city

So stayed at yet another Toyoko Inn. Stayed here in June '06. Most of the Toyoko Inns are similar. These are like the Best Westerns back in the US. They're nice business budget hotels with good amenities. All the Toyokos have a dining room/area close to the lobby. On the ground floor there's usually a small laundry room with pay washer and dryer. There are also vending machines with water, coffee, snacks, and soft drinks. Word for those who may not be aware, breakfast is Japanese style, which means tea, miso soup, and choice of a few types of onigiri.

Each Toyoko room I stayed at was a single room with a clean comfy bed. Room also came with a desk, fridge, small closet, and small all-in-one bathroom. For the uninitiated, the bathroom is quite a technological innovation. The bathroom is a step up from the rest of the room. The tub is large and deep Japanese style tub. The toilet seat has a bunch of buttons to control the warmth of the seat, activate the bidet function, and do some other things that I don't remember. Toiletries are great and are all in one convenient location, no more little bottles.

For the price, the value you get from a Toyoko is outstanding.

Since all Toyokos are fairly similar, this review will be more about the city in which it was located.

The hotel was conveniently located right next to the Miebashi train station. The trains run on a monorail line so they are quiet so you don't really notice the train much while sleeping. The station itself is a few stops away from the airport so that was quite convenient as well. My family on my dad's side was from Okinawa so we had a small family reunion of sorts in Aug '07. Getting around the island was fairly easy, if you had a taxi or rented a car. Naha serves as a great base camp or jumping point to other spots around the island. Lots of Americans from the military base are around in Naha so there are lots of American style restaurants in town but do try the authentic Okinawan dishes while there. Hope to return again some day and see more.

Room Tip: If you have any reservations about the rooms facing the train station, get one on the other side of...

Stayed here for three nights in March 2012. Easy access on monorail from airport. About a three minute walk with bags in tow from Miebashi station to hotel. Friendly staff. Not sure of their english speaking abilities because I speak Japanese. Rooms are above average for Japanese standards. Full size bed for single room instead of a single size bed. Room had A/C, mini fridge, LCD TV with video on demand rental, tea pot with tea, slippers and robe, space under bed was high enough for suitcase storage, alarm clock, free wifi, and basic toiletries (toothbrush with tooth paste, razor, soap and shampoo. Vending machines with soft drinks, snacks and alcohol in lobby. Tea, water and coffee dispensers also in lobby. Breakfast is included with stay. Basic Japanese style breakfast. Walking distance to Kokusai Dori. Convenient shopping and dining within area. The only negative was their house cleaning policy where you have to vacate the rooms from 1000-1600. Not sure if you ask to not have your room cleaned that day you can sleep in? I never asked. Overall a nice stay and will stay here again.

Room Tip: Some lower floor rooms have no view. You'll be looking into a wall.

Business hotel of the Toyoko chain. Kind of tacky interior but functional. Extra luggage space under the bed which is a nice touch. Complimentary Japanese breakfast (onigiri, Okinawa soba). Free use of lobby PC and printer plus in-room internet. Lobby phone for free landline calls to anywhere in Japan. Located right next to monorail station and within walking distance to shopping street and market. Cheap and ample parking.
