We went to this restaurant because of the previous review mentioning veggie options and we weren't disappointed. Being a vegetarian is difficult in Japan because the Japanese tend to put meat in everything and don't really understand what vegetarianism involves. Hallow Beach is a lovely, relaxed place with a great terrace overlooking the sea. The atmosphere is great, in not short measure due to the waitress (I think?), Yoko. She spoke good English and was extremely friendly, helpful and fun. She was able to suggest a number of veggie options. On our two visits we had the vegetable curry (divine), the vegetables with gorgonzola dip (yum!), garlic potatoes (super yum), and bagne caulda - a kind of salad (a bit overpriced but very nice).
It's about a mile from Ishigaki town. We walked there the first time and went by bike (our hotel had free bikes we could use) the second. It's well worth a visit.
