I like to go to the Big Dipper BBQ, right next to the icecream shop. Take out or you can eat at one of the picinic tables. Food is good- the chicken is in high demand, so if it's getting later in the afternoon, you might want to call ahead and reserve your dinner. The pulled pork sandwich is huge- definitely enough for two hungry people. It's very good, but not as good as Dinosaur BBQ pulled pork or California Grill's pulled pork.
The ribs are tasty, too.
I like all of the sides, but the BBQ beans remind me of pork and beans....they are good but not fantastic.
Reasonable prices, fast service.

I have loved going to this local ice cream stand since I moved to the area a year ago. It's easy to see why this place is a local favorite - I have friends who drive out 20 minutes from Binghamton just to get ice cream here!

I love that there are a variety of ice cream products available for reasonable prices, as well as food from the grill such as hamburgers, chicken spidies, fries, etc. Next door there is also a great BBQ place that is always filled with customers.

We stopped by there the other night. I paid $2.95 for a double scoop of raspberry chunk ice cream. It was delicious. This is on a service road, about 1/2 a mile west of the Apalachin exit on 17W. If you are driving along the southern tier of NY, this is worth a stop.

I live very close to the Big Dipper Ice Cream and it always has a line of customers waiting for ice cream. In fact, as its only open seasonally, in March when it opens for the season, there is indeed a line of customers with their hat, gloves and scarves on. You would have to go to Vivoli in Florence, Italy for better ice cream. The servings are generous and the price is low.
